The best Tyner performance I attended was in a bar in Madison circa 1970 - Byard Lancaster, Herbie Lewis and Eric Gravatt. Everyone was outstanding and Cecil Taylor was dancing at the edge of the stage.
I'm sure all is fabricated. My daughter Carla (designer of my cd packages) hipped me to the "cat" sequence last year. All her graphic designer friends enjoyed the exchange.
Thanks for this post Dan. We all ran Scott off this board and we all lose. I certainly don't think he's correct all the time but as I said a while back (and offended him), he's a good generalist.
Pres was amazing all the time before the war. The frequency of "amazing" diminished thru the years, but the rewards are worth the exploration. Exploration - that's the ticket.
Bad Pres is worth having.
