I've ordered from Needle Doctor (once). The numbers in the rest of the post are made up (I don't have the paperwork, but the % is correct) but I bought a new stylus for one of my sets and the $80 bill delivered a needle with a $19.95 sticker on the box.
First saw the Mothers in 1968, had a personal invite to speak with Frank and he was a complete asshole, trying to drive a wedge between me and Roscoe Mitchell and Lester Bowie, because I was a "white businessman". I will never forget this.
That's the original cover with a photo by Terry Martin. I've been telling Delmark I want to remaster the tapes and have them reissue it with that cover.
Mosaic first. No question. The Arista Air titles are worth it alone, and better (geez I hate that word in this context) than the Air recordings on the BS box. You should get the About Time recordings after the Mosaic and then the BS box - not to forget the wonderful Pi releases. Henry is always very interesting - not many on this level.
The big mono dump began in 1968. At Discount Records, on Monroe St, in Chicago we had 3 or 4 bins going for $1.99. That would be around 225 titles. It was amazing what titles Liberty dug out of the warehouse for that sale.
