  1. Still no discussion of the Columbia River!
  2. Sounds painful. I sold the bulk of my vinyl to finance the Art Ensemble box. No regrets.
  3. My first copy of Cecil Taylor's Transition date (picked up in 1966) was worn white and sounded like it. Kept that copy after I found a good one and got more than a few bucks for it when I dumped vinyl.
  4. Not fair. I was listening to Ellington.
  5. Since the guy listed the set number, I know who the original purchaser was.
  6. No. Only 3 lps originally issued and the set covered over 5 hours of music. I did not seem important in context.
  7. I'd be embarrassed to be found with it.
  8. Single discs, yes. Probably no extra material beyond what's in the box.
  9. You are slippin' Greg. Aggie addressed that back in post 12.
  10. Alphonso Trent Al Green Green Hornet
  11. Anyone named after a fastener is ok in my book. Happy Birthday!
  12. Thanks for all this Chris.
  13. That's it.
  14. Dates I can remember are; with Blakey at Roberts Show Lounge in Chicago, leading a band at Slugs with Ramon Morris (also in the Messengers) and a Jimmy Smith Jam I put together for the Chicago Jazz Festival. The fest band included Bill, Junior Cook, Lou Donaldson, Ray Crawford. Since Blakey was in Japan at the time, Jimmy brought his current drummer and I don't remember his name. If anyone has a tape of the festival broadcast, I'd be most grateful.
  15. Not really a string section - 3 violas and a cello. Fine disc.
  16. Joe is dumping his secret stash.
  17. That's an old series. Not much happening now. The majors have "released" all the specialists and are saving bucks.
  18. they are the new thad and mel, fwiw. keeps 'em off the street.
