  1. Looks like the Cowboys need a head coach.
  2. Rex did that 3 or 4 times during the regular season. That's why Lovey keeps him in.
  3. Great news. Thanks for the alert.
  4. Nice to see Plunkett give the trophy away.
  5. Indeed. If Chuck, who's so quick to dismiss AI, could figure out how to get just 1% of the massive AI audience to be as obsessed/interested in jazz as pop music then we'd all be in pretty good shape right now. Not sure we need that 1%.
  6. No comment on your replacement.
  7. Geez Rachel, I was going to respond and your message is gone!
  8. The original DB review (by Martin Williams) was 3 stars. Fair review considering the time. I meant the recent review of the Mosaic single. Sorry for any "confusion". No confusion. I just wanted to add "perspective".
  9. All the best to Mark S and Rachel. See you in 2 weeks.
  10. Just checked the score......hopefully, bring on the Colts!
  11. I was about to post what Jim said.
  12. The original DB review (by Martin Williams) was 3 stars. Fair review considering the time.
  13. I'm a Bears fan (amazed?) and want Indy in Feb. I figure the Bears might lose to either team but I want the Patriots gone, just because. In the mid '70s we almost bought a nice house within a mile of the stadium. That deal was killed when Ann and I were "bumped" from our dinner in a very nice Boston restaurant so their quarterback (don't want to type his name ) could have our table. We were escorted out mid-meal.
  14. I thought Richard M Jones was a pianist and composer of an old an extremely well known blues song, which I can't remember at the moment What did he have to do with that LP? MG He was also talent scout/producer for the Okeh label in Chicago. His influence in the field was enormous.
  15. Outstanding! Thanks again Brownie.
  16. I have a copy of Eric Dolphy's Outward Bound on a gold label Prestige. It's not mentioned in the Goldmine book. That's 7311, another with no release date listed. MG FWIW, the Schwann listings were dated when first published. The issue date was often 2 months earlier. Schwann also asked for promo copies to "verify information". If you sent the record the details were printed, if you didn't they only listed the record. In the early '70s while managing a chain of record stores in Boston I discovered the reason for the demand of promos - William Schwann would drive up to the store's front door and sell the records out of the trunk/boot. What a creep.
  17. Got the mono lp while in school (40+ years ago) and still have it. A fine example of "reduced" Ellington in the '50s/'60s era.
  18. "Harkining back" is not my favorite mode of musical expression. I don't think I'm your "dear man".
  19. So...........
  20. You were trying to say?
  21. Yeah, that's what I need to do. Get a friggin' grip. Go back and read my post. Edit to post: Deal with the costume shit. If you want to discuss historical AACM costumes, take me on. I was there.
  22. I dont think thats very nice. Just because a woman chooses to wear a short skirt on occasion doesn't neccessarily mean she's trying to use a "crutch" of any sort. The many times I've seen her perform I am pretty certain that this sort of thinking is not part of her thought in presentation. She seems to me to just be a free spirit and very confident in herself--which is something I think she needs in such a male dominated art form. If you want to see a female artist using that stuff as a crutch look at somebody like Mindy Abair... but all that aside I am just most interested in talking about her music not her "look". Lets get back to that. I don't give a shit about her looks. I'm looking for music to interest me. I think the "visual image" messes all that stuff up and a male could not do that. If Sonny Rollins or Anthony Braxton show up "in costume" I'll back off.
  23. Don't think I said that, though that's ok with me.
  24. I really think she's happy with her thighs. The rest of it too. I'd be more receptive if she didn't use those "crutches" but probably wouldn't know of her if she didn't.
