  1. From past experience, I will never buy a printer from anyone not named HP.
  2. Mosaic's Scott Wenzel just told me Ted Kendall did the sound restoration. From personal experience, Kendall uses noise reduction as desired by his customers. Don't blame him.
  3. Interesting comparing all 3 takes of Africa.
  4. The bonus track was on Decca MCAD-31372, issued in the US in 1990. Cohn revisited "America" on Carl Fontana's "The Great Fontana".
  5. and the shots of folks in the audience looking like WTF! really sad.
  6. I have picked up these titles (Universal Japan) for around $12 each in the last 3 years.
  7. Ah, the lone publicist.
  8. If it was important to you, you'd read them. I think this is an error.
  9. In my basement. Been here for 20+ years. No expensive/stylish chairs. Nothing hurts. I think we make our own comfort.
  10. Fine recordings indeed, but Gambit is not the best source. Sorry to see you recommending this crap.
  11. Gene Sperling Gene Vincent Gene Wright
  12. Depended on how lazy the artist was and the timespan you are asking about.
  13. Great recording and I prefer the other side.
  14. Don't hold your breath.
  15. Not sure what a "week moment" is but you really need the 2 disc set. The notes answer your questions and give you more music in better sound.
  16. I have a number of objections to the show's "thesis". BS was fine but without Ellington he'd be zero. To blame Ellington is a crime in my book.
  17. Actually the cover says Jack Monterose. Interested parties can hear this session on a Fresh Sound JR compilation called Jaywalkin'. Obviously I'm too slow on the trigger.

Is there an echo in here?
  19. JR, not Jack.
  20. They were recorded about 3 months apart. Did you get the version of the Coral Cohn/Sims with a bonus track?
  21. Rudy's is the brown structure on a large wooded lot. The living quarters are at the bottom of the image. All the structures around his property came after he built the studio. It was still sparsely developed when I first went there 30+ years ago.
  22. I don't think so.

The box pictured above (issued in 2003) was mastered by Jeff Willens so I'd guess the same masters were used for the single issues.
