  1. Books! Yes, that's the ticket. Shepp/Parlan isn't far below the surface.
  2. Is it clear to all Mike has blocked me?
  3. If that doesn't work, contact member slide_advantage_redoux. He is in touch with Rudd.
  4. Wonderful date produced by Duke Ellington - half solo, half trio with Vishnu Wood and Lennie McBrowne. I had a chance to buy the masters back in the '70s but didn't have a dime.
  5. These are included in the Mosaic set.
  6. The Five Satins Satan Keith Richards
  7. Things could be very different if you were there witnessing this stuff as it happened.
  8. Heard two track on the car stereo yesterday. My ears are still bleeding.
  9. In a posting a while back to the Braxton Yahoo group, Gino Robair explained that it's an audio-only DVD. So I have to play it thru my tv speakers to get the "details"? Another example of a "clueless provider" jumping beyond the customers.
  10. David - you have a boxed set of this session? I would buy that.
  11. I am currently wearing an Okka shirt. On the back it says "we improvise so you don't have to".
  12. Start your own thread about the new release!
  13. Hmm... don't know what you're referring to specifically. But this 12+1tet music is indeed "bad" more Why do you ignore the rest of my message?: "God save us from perfect performances (they will arrive for your children). " I love this shit. You are "too sensitive X 2".
  14. Welcome back. Thanks for the news. I was just listening to Rastascan's "Six Compositions" tonight.
  15. JR told me they recorded enough for a 2nd volume but it was not released. Cuscuna says the tapes did not survive.
  16. Entered the "internet" about 10 years ago and this was one of the first "games" I found. Don't care to play again.
  17. Within weeks of a "paid" issue an EU "public domain" version would be on the market. How much would you pay to clear the legal hurdles, perform the research and place it in the marketplace? $10-20,000? Be my guest.
  18. Good deal. Jump folks.
  19. Yes! Was just diggin' "KD's Cab Ride" yesterday, as it came up thru the shuffle on my iPod. His tone is just gorgeous. Real title "Echo of Spring".
  20. Another plug for KD on the Messengers at the Bohemia discs. Classic, and the rest of the band is dandy. About time for an RVG of Afro-Cuban.

  22. This is why I bristled at the Manny Albam mention. He was a fine "craftsman" and Russell was an "artist". We can talk about Russell going "off the tracks" but Albam never got that far. FWIW, I have worked with Russell and might have a bit (and I do mean "bit") of understanding.
  23. Great "movie in the mind". Thanks.
  24. I always thought it was ballsy of McCann to say he was Ltd. Saved the rest of us a bunch of time.
