  1. Music is my life. WTF do I need some calendar? I just want something in a readable font that is convenient.
  2. David Shipp Bettye Reynolds Vonski
  3. Alan Braufman - Valley of Search Arnold Dreyblatt - Nodal Excitation Anthony Davis - Lady of the Mirrors Hamiet Bluiett - Birthright Arthur Blythe - The Grip Assume the Yoshi Wada is good; never had it... for some reason, the Revolutionary Ensemble on IN never got to me, though I do stand by other sessions of theirs. Hell, what about Of the Cosmos Records? Gimme a break. The catalog was much wider than that. I might not agree with all the choices but Bob was a good producer and helped the music more that most at the time. For a couple of years I have been thinking about starting a thread about him and his work. Rest in peace Bob Cummins, one of the real people in the background.
  4. Yup. Any Bach heirs here to collect? What a dickhead.
  5. Certainly not "many, many different kinds of music" in your list.
  6. If Delmark ever issues a Howlin' Wolf cd Bob may tell of Wolf saving us again. He'll never tell of the guy with a gun at Turner's during a JB Hutto gig.
  7. Yup. Ann was there too - table right in front of the stage. Must have been around 1968.
  8. Probably why this thread was started. My responses are too complex to type without much thought but I might return.
  9. How High the Moon played really slowly. Somewhere there's music......who he the moo................
  10. Bambi Thumper Bu
  11. I always felt this cover fit the times but not the record. Maybe you had to be there.
  12. You the MAN!
  13. guess i have a different god.
  14. Tom and Jerry were decent "cartoons". The H-B stuff that comes later is crap as animation. Might be good tv, but that is far down the list. signed "the voice of god"
  15. Just stroke it as fast as you can.
  16. And Black Saint. Thanks. One difference is the Euro labels reacted to music issued on the US labels at the time.
  17. I'd suggest discussions about Prestige, Riverside, Savoy and more current labels as a corrective to the BN slant of our discussions. How about India Navigation? Too few titles? Is that important?
  18. I don't really want to play this game but this list comes close. OK - Where's Circle, Dave Holland's Conference of the Birds, Paul Bley and a bunch of Japos?
  19. 48 years after the sessions.
  20. They won't be dead 'til I get all my stuff out. Then it is over. If the Sony and BMG series were really active we wouldn't see Mosaic singles. Universal is a crapshoot depending on the current person employed to exploit catalog. Currently looks like downloads from them.
  21. The Swingtime lp you mention only has 4 of the 24 sides contained in the Uptown cd. The rest of the lp contained Mingus sideman appearances.
  22. Since you be goin' that direction, how 'bout "Come Go With Me" - Del Vikings.
  23. Yup, it's the other guy's fault. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
