  1. You "animal" fans are all alike.
  2. I was searching for GERALD WILSON.
  3. I think Concord is busy figuring out how to dub in vocals by Tony Bennett, Norah, etc. When that shit is straightened out, we will have 'em.
  4. Mike, would you have thought of George?
  5. Hey Moose - listen to the Diz/Bird - want to see those bovine (right species?) nipples stand erect.
  6. This error contains no humor. I made a leader search for Gerald Wilson on my Bruyninckx program and the result was ZIP! I could not believe he/they ignored GW so the closest I could come was Garland Wilson, so I searched for that - I thought I would scroll down and find Gerald. Nothing of the kind - seems like they think Garland Wilson made all of Gerald's records.
  7. Wasn't that the odd show where Trane played all bossa novas?
  8. Damn! I wondered what happen to that disc. Send it back asap.
  9. Chuck, Tried searching to find out if the option to purchase from you is listed anywhere on the site and I can't find the info. That being said, can I purchase directly from you, via PayPal? Thanks, Marla ← Yes, nessarecords@earthlink.net for PayPal. $15 pp in the US.
  10. Back during their "Free America" sale, after about a month waiting, one of their phone people told me "in stock" meant they could order it.
  11. Yeah, but I don't think he was one of the original beepsters like "Hen".
  12. I'm with you.
  13. Just to make sure, this is the sax guy who plays really fast, right?
  14. FWIW "You and Lee" is one of the titles available for download on the Verve site.
  15. Good to see I made a couple of folks happy.
  16. The River was a ballet written circa 1970. There is a 40+ minute band recording on one of the "Private Collection" discs. In the notes Stanley Dance writes "First, he recorded the main themes as piano solos for the guidance of choreographer Alvin Ailey".
  17. I wrote to Tom Hull after that article ran and asked why Smalls hadn't been included. From what he said, it was below the minimum number of releases in the catalog. The 'smallest' label listed had 12 according to him. We have 9 (at least til September). I was a little disappointed not to see it listed, and now that you mentioned it, the other labels that were omitted as well. Luke ← Quantity always wins over quality. How would Dial have fared in 1950?
  18. I can be there in a couple of weeks. What brand of Scotch?
  19. If you nursed a single drink all night you'd be outta' here but the way you slug 'em down.................
