  18. Mention of Two-Ton Baker brings back memories of an Ellington "master class" in Madison during the early '70s. Duke spotted Mr Baker in the audience and invited him onstage. Baker waddled to the lip of the stage and rolled onto it. Duke had to help him to his feet. It was one of the most uncomfortable spectacles I've witnessed.
  19. Not many here (any?) here old enough to get my previous post.
  20. as stated many (unbelievably!!) pages ago, he's Andy D He's Jingles? I thought he died decades ago. B-)
  21. Just wait Al, not all that long (take my word)! 19 is fine as long as she's not required to speak. B-)
  22. Lately I've been enjoying the late solo "tributes" by Earl Hines. In addition to the Ellingtons (not my favorites), I've dug programs of Harold Arlen (2 discs), Cole Porter, Louis Armstrong, WC Handy, Hoagy Carmichael and two Gershwin discs. My 2 favorites are the Gershwin program recorded for Carosello (I have both lps on a single Musidisc cd) and the Armstrong tribute. I wish I still had the Dave Dallwitz program on Swaggie.
  23. Allen Eager and Brew Moore on Savoy.
  24. The Capitol 12" printed a moody "glam" photo on the back.
