  1. Do they comply with the RIAA curve? -eric Certainly not, but neither to I.
  2. I may have an extra set of the 78s.
  3. UNDERSTAND: Dusty, one of my favorite sources. keeps a very small inventory. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered to find the title "out of stock" the next time I logged on.
  4. 'scuse me, let me dip over there.
  5. Yup. Hey, I'm a guy who's lost 50 pounds since March. Now if I can stop smoking.
  6. No. Alamo did. Give me a Pigmeat and a bottle of beer.
  7. The law is broken by the importers. You can't expect all retailers to check the "legality" of every item they buy, but they may be culpable. Some retailers and importers have been responsive to letters from lawyers and it seems Jazz Factory has stopped pressing the Mingus record (at least it no longer shows up on the Blue Moon site). The problem is the cost of getting a law firm to do this is greater than the "potential" money saved. The creeps count on this. On the other hand, I understand it is hard to resist some of these packages. JSP's package of Son House, Furry Lewis, Bukka White, Ishman Bracey and Tommy Johnson keeps calling to me. SHIT!
  8. Maybe it was Pigmeat Markham. Remember the Alamo!
  9. I can "hear" that damn phrase in my head. It must be used in a radio "bump" or something. I can hear the gravely voice!
  10. Could all this action be happening because Dennis is going to Europe?
  11. I have a faint memory of the Argo lp. Something like Morris Grunts Presents J.U.N.K.
  12. Gee, our waitress warmed my bottle for nothing.
  13. Hey, is that "joi de vivre" or are you just happy to see me?
  14. So is Ira. He did the Eager notes for Uptown.
  15. I have never seen it - been meaning to get it when I have a couple of bucks. If you get it, I suggest buying it from the band's site so they get all the money.
  16. IIRC, Tower was giving these away with the Sony/Gil/Miles box.
  17. I have never understood the attraction of the Wes/Trane pairing at this time. It does not sound like a special combination to me.
  18. I guess this is the most appropriate forum to post this message. The above titled NPR show is a favorite - very different each week. The reason for the posting is to get you to go to their site HERE and look for a program called "Music Lessons". It is episode #104 from the broadcast of June 5, 1998. You can listen online. The David Sedaris story called "Papa Was Not A Rolling Stone" is a classic. Everyone I play this for laughs 'til tears run down. The other stories are good too, but my family see's me in the Sedaris story. I must order the cd soon.
  19. Went into the file and changed it from CMYK to RGB. That made the bb happy.
  20. All the file specs are within the range of my other avatars.
  21. You will be getting a variation on the purple. The black and blue was an early experiment. I have been trying to upload a "corrected" avatar for a while but the system rejects it. Not sure what the problem is.
  22. How old was Doug when he recorded this motha'?
  23. Thanks for reviving this interesting thread. I'd forgotten.
