  1. About time! I think I ordered that one twice from them, unsuccessfully. Hopefully it's true that 3rd time's the charm.
  2. New today: Miles Davis, "Round About Midnight"--Legacy Edition with extra live disc I think they may have had this edition before, but it disappeared for a while and now they're treating it as a "new arrival."
  3. I know how you feel--mine's always jamming up on me:
  4. Cadence is Black Saint/Soul Note's US and Canadian distributor (per this). Cadence's Black Saint offerings are here, and their Soul Note offerings are here. Lots of CDs (@$15), but only a few LPs(@$9).
  5. Cleveland. Thanks Chuck, that's real helpful. Online wise guy! You're lucky--he could've just said "Ohio," or even "the midwest."
  6. You should hear their recording of Malaguena.
  7. Some Spanish stuff: Bill Evans 1960 Birdland Sessions (great price on this--$12.99) Wes Montgomery & Billy Taylor (contains "The Navy Swings" plus a later European session w/Clark Terry) Wes Montgomery/John Hendricks (contains "A Good Git-Together" plus "Kismet" with the Mastersounds)
  8. Oh happy day! Shit! How did I miss that one??? Especially with Justin!
  9. At first glance, the "complete" Red Garland At The Prelude was the one that caught my eye (think they swiped it from Disconforme? ). Of course, there are so many boots and box sets of Doris Day material already in circulation, I'm not sure how much interest there'll be in that one.
  10. Sounds like your server was infected with the dreaded Gary Coleman Virus.
  11. I agree about the Jamal--just started listening to the first several tracks today and was really diggin' it. And the sound is terrific--wonderful presence.
  12. Don't worry--I'm sure there are plenty of free iPods left.
  13. Does this mean I don't have to get up six hours early again tomorrow?
  14. Happy Birthday, John! Looking forward to getting together again so we can celebrate!
  15. And it's still available at yourmusic.com for $5.99 with free shipping, here.
  16. The Wynton title doesn't show up on the jazz "New Arrivals" list--think they're trying to say something?
  17. So you think we're all really cool? (Maybe the rest of you guys are used to be called really cool, but it's a new experience for me. -_- )
  18. Plus, she said that the people on this forum are really cool.
  19. Yourmusic.com did the same thing with this and the other XCP CDs Sony recently released.
  20. I thought I had just gotten up a lot earlier than usual.
  21. Jim, be sure those are added to the press kits--at least the ones I get.
  22. Not as ugly as the mess in which Sony/BMG now finds itself.
  23. Then it's time to run for the sub-basement (when the basement alone isn't enough).
  24. Also, on the back of the jewel case, next to the FBI seal and warning, is a box that says "Compatible With" and lists various operating systems, ripping software, and portable devices, says "Limited Copies," and refers questions to the web site "cp.sonybmg.com/xcp." Additionally, the label on the disc itself bears this copy control logo: and the words: which undoudtedly are words Sony/BMG now wishes it had never seen nor heard.
  25. Doesn't matter. First off, it's now the same entity (SonyBMG). But even if it weren't, Sony will exhcange any defective disc on its labels (even those without CP) regardless of whether it was marketed through a BMG Direct club. The link I gave in my post above is only for the CP exchange program and so would only cover the Brookmeyer disc. But if you'll look in the upper right corner of page 14 of the Shaw booklet, you'll find an 800 number for Sony's Quality Management Department, and if you call them they'll exchange the Shaw disc for you (and pay for return postage). That number is printed inside every Sony release, and it works (I've done it). Just be prepared when you call them to tell them where on the disc (track # and time) the defect appears. Of course, you could also just exchange the Shaw disc through yourmusic.com, but you can't exchange the Brookmeyer there--at least for now--since they've deleted all the Sony CP titles.
