Feel bad for him too. Eventually, it will get down to the bones, but I think most of us may be just waiting for all the fat to be cut off first.

Oh, "still", eh? Ok, I hadn't been since the beginnings of the 10% off, so I didn't even know that they were at 30%. Should go tomorrow I suppose. Thanks!

77 Million Paintings by Brian Eno

You should just make or add your own. Nearly always the best way to handle such things I think. -
Al, What was the percentage off at the Dallas store? Thanks!

Yeah, if you check near the back of the book, it states that G4s won't produce the audio. Bummer...Anyway, I'll be upgrading soon. -

It's custom. Probably not much use for it with the general public. -

Research tells me that the audio is generative only on G5 Macs and Windows PCs. -

Man! 52 inch display! Hell yeah! I'm gonna reinstall this baby 'cause I know that sound is involved. I've got about 8 iTunes visualizers, but none move as slow as this. Sometimes I use software that does close to the same thing as this Eno thing, but it uses any video that you care to use. I have a video folder of things that I've done and I have the software randomly choosing excerpts from it in order to create new pix that move. They go from highly pixelated images to clear multiple scenes: -

It's nice. A couple of things about it: It's too bad that it can't be run as something separate on your DVD player. It is software for your computer only, so the larger your monitor, the better. Also, after I got it, I thought that the music would be generative as well, but there isn't any music except if you simultaneously play the enclosed mp3 (31m:16s). So I just run my own program. There are 5 "speeds": slow to extremely slow On the quickest speed, this is the difference after 5 minutes: You can still see traces of the left image in the right one. The phrase "77 Million Paintings" is a bit misleading because there are not 77 million separate pictures, but a figured potential for that many through overlaps. Rod (now that I've seen the explanation at the above website, one should know that the images may not change at the rate shown. I'm guessing that it may have to do with either a faster computer that was used or it's for a quicker demonstration) Also: I'm still getting the impression (from the website and some reviews) that there is suppose to be sound - generative even - but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to do it. -

Well, that's the way that I read this statement of his: "I have had one previous opportunity to serve my country in a meaningful way - at 8:05 one morning in 2002 I passed Donald Rumsfeld on Delaware Avenue and I was acutely aware that slashing his throat would spare the lives of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of innocent people. I had a knife clenched in my hand, and there were no bodyguards visible; to my deep shame I hesitated, and the moment was past..."
-
Lots of loaded words there to perk it up. Hell Randy I don't know what was in his mind do I? But what we do know is that he said that he was sorry that he didn't murder Rumsfeld when he had the chance. Obsession? Sounds like he was extremely distraught to me! I don't think that it's too far off to think what I said earlier. Gruesome? Yeah, to nearly everyone, but maybe not to him? Favorite smell: turpentine? I didn't even listen or watch the whole day of the elections because I was ready for a replay of the '04 shenanigans. Who knows what his reactions to that debacle was. So, I don't think it's that far off to think that maybe a glimmer of hope may have saved his life.

I can't help thinking that this may not have happened if he were around on Tuesday - better yet - Wednesday? Or maybe it was bound to happen regardless? Possibly on tenterhooks about the upcoming results and just couldn't deal? Sad really...and to burden Bruno with this... Rod

In the late 50's he did a recording on Roulette - I think it was with The Ravens. The single is pretty hard to find, but I think it shows up on a comp or two. Not sure if it's simultaneous with his work with Diz (Dizzy in Greece, in Chester PA, at Newport, et al.)

You can find him on Roulette and on this disc too:

Yes, the guy that played him has made a major announcement. (and Paris Hilton says that she wants to be the first celebrity in space - but we all know... {fill in the obvious joke})

Not sure if it fits #2, but I can envision what your saying about #1! Actually, the grouping of all of those events at one moment was a surprise to me. While sitting reading Morton Feldman Says, the cook at the lodge that I'm staying at was playing Kind of Blue in the kitchen while finishing up preps. I began hearing harp sounds and figured that either I was dead or that this was the new Vince Wilburn and CO approach to their new Wal-Mart friendly remastered Miles-mania marketing idea. Got up from my chair and all of the events that I mentioned were just there in front of my eyes and ears. David, hope all is OK. Please keep us up to date (if it's any of our business, that is... ) Rod

As an alternative to Hussein's death sentence and Doogie Howser's big announcement, I am sitting looking at a beautiful sunset reflecting on the New Mexico Mimbres mountain, watching deer and hummingbirds, listening to a woman play an Irish harp while her husband sits next to her creating a watercolor. Glad nobody chose Pussy Galore. We'd probably have many pages on that. -

Definitely not a silly question. Since you're referring to folders and not playlists, I think that it files according to tags and then divides up the complete list according to: • Playlists • Artists • Albums • Songs • Podcasts • Genres • Composers • Audiobooks Then, within each area you can listen randomly or in a series. Not really sure about intricately created files 'cause I just dump the lot on it and hit random. The only non-artist file that I think that I have on iTunes is a "Various Artist" file and it comes thru just fine on the iPod. (Artists/various artists/all). So, I'd think that your "1958" file would read just like that. Is your 1958 file listed under "Artists", or "Albums", etc? Then you choose that: (______/1958/Miles Davis)
