  1. Today's final play-off result: Trinidad and Tobago 1, Bahrain 1 The second legs of the play-offs will be played on Wednesday, November 16.
  2. The Mosaic sounds crappy. My favorite is the Japanese "Blue Note Works" CD reissue, Toshiba TOCJ-4165.
  3. Final score: Spain 5, Slovakia 1
  4. Hmm, you should have seen the Netherlands against Italy, 1-3. Total rubbish... Argentina against England (2-3) was much better.
  5. Two more results: Switzerland 2, Turkey 0 Uruguay 1, Australia 0
  6. Switzerland and Uruguay both lead 1-0 at half time.
  7. The first result: Norway 0, Czech Republic 1
  8. This was generally a great series, though the pressings were not very good (to put it mildly...)
  9. Last 24 hours...
  10. The first legs of the World Cup qualification play-offs will be played today: Norway v. Czech Republic Spain v. Slovakia Switzerland v. Turkey Uruguay v. Australia Trinidad and Tobago v. Bahrain
  11. that'll be nice hearing some Prestige titles all fizzy and compressed with some nice armageddon volume tweaking! ← You're probably right... Ugh...
  12. When I entered Barry Guy, I got Johann Sebastian Bach...
  13. The McPherson is recommended!
  14. The Glass City, I think... (City of Glass?) ← yup and the little snippet sez: "...and one day later, Huib is underway as co-driver to Copenhagen" Don't know what that is all about, but it made me spray some coffee ← De Glazen Stad was a series on Dutch TV in 1968, about people working in Dutch glass-house horticulture. Van Hemert's tune was the theme song. ← proof once more that Hans is older than I am... ← Oh yeah
  15. The Glass City, I think... (City of Glass?) ← yup and the little snippet sez: "...and one day later, Huib is underway as co-driver to Copenhagen" Don't know what that is all about, but it made me spray some coffee ← De Glazen Stad was a series on Dutch TV in 1968, about people working in the Dutch glass-house horticulture situated in the Westland region of the Netherlands. Van Hemert's tune was the theme song.
  16. Up, just in case someone has additional info.
  17. It's November 8, just past midnight over here, so: happy birthday Paul, and many happy returns!
  18. ZYX Germany is losing its Fantasy license deal at the end of the year - that's probably the reason for their dumping the Fantasy-owned stuff. Correction: Concord-owned Fantasy stuff, of course...
  19. Howard McGhee/Freddie Redd's Music from "The Connection" (1960) was also released on Felsted, but I guess this falls outside the scope of the projected set.
  20. Happy birthday.
  21. I've just listed 3 gold CDs on eBay (John Coltrane, David Bowie, and Bruce Springsteen). Thanks for looking!
  22. I posted a few threads about the TOCJ24s. Why don't you do a search? Here's a thread, and here's another one. You can get them directly from Hiroshi Tanno (hiroshi@earlyrecords.com) at 1,500 yen or about €11 each at today's exchange rate, plus shipping. He doesn't accept credit cards, but he does take PayPal, and his shipping rates are very reasonable, compared to the rate other Japanese stores like Amazon Japan, HMV Japan and Tower Japan are charging.
  23. Well I for one, would be interested in purchasing those earlier sets I missed the boat on. I came along late in the game and envy you guys who were fortunate enough to grab those amazing sets when they were available. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be interested, but the likelyhood of that happening at this point is probably nill. ← Mosaic has always stated that they will not reissue any of their OOP limited-edition sets.
  24. There's additional info about this over on Steve Hoffman's forum. Red Trumpet's owner Rick Flynn filed for Chapter 7.
