FS/ Art Blakey At the Jazz Corner Of the World 2 cd
J.A.W. replied to Jazztropic's topic in Offering and Looking For...
RVG or another version? A few more details would be helpful. -
See post #116 above. There are lots of translation services on the 'net, like Google: http://translate.google.com and you can always ask German speaking members of this board or me to help you.

Which is still a higher than Amazon Germany's current price of €20.99.

Actually, it was late 2011. Yes, my slipup. But that still locates the recordings we are talking about here firmly outside the scope of applicability of the new 70-year limit. Yep, as far as the European Union is concerned, I didn't deny that. For the United States it might be a different story; if the release wasn't licensed, it probably violates American copyright law.

Actually, it was late 2011.

But not wrong Clear.
-
Yep, that's true. Why would it not be illegal in the United States if it wasn't licensed?
-
But it's still illegal in the United States with its different copyright laws, and that's where this board is based And it's 70 years now in the European Union for recordings that were not yet in the public domain when the rule was changed - yep, I know, Switzerland is not a member state; what do your country's copyright laws say, by the way?

Whole batch of Mosaic Selects and Singles running low
J.A.W. replied to miles65's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
That wouldn't surprise me either but there are eight selects with a restock date. Ah, hadn't noticed that. So much for my speculation -
See post #67: Amazon Germany's price including tax (VAT) is now 20.99 euros or about $28 plus shipping. If ordered from outside the European Union, tax will be deducted. http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B008YCMM2A/ref=ox_ya_os_product

Don't let one bad experience which is not even Mosaic's fault influence your opinion

Why don't you send them another e-mail? In my experience their customer service is excellent, the best I've ever encountered and they usually respond within a couple of days max.

Whole batch of Mosaic Selects and Singles running low
J.A.W. replied to miles65's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
It's pure speculation on my part, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to get rid of the remaining Singles and Selects as soon as possible, even if the licenses are not expiring soon or the total sold is not even near the limit, and concentrate on the big boxes. -

Real Gone Music is legit - indeed, not to be confused with the European public-domain label Real Gone Jazz. They (Real Gone Music) are an American label whose owner posts regularly over on the Hoffman board. http://realgonemusic...re.com/browse/1

Problems with Amazon Marketplace seller ZOverstocks
J.A.W. replied to J.A.W.'s topic in Miscellaneous Music
I posted the same topic over on the Hoffman board and most of the reactions were moderately positive. Seems I've had a streak of (very) bad luck with this seller. However, I don't think I'll be ordering from them again, at least no used CDs. The fact remains that their customer service is not the best I've ever encountered - and that's putting it mildly. -
Problems with Amazon Marketplace seller ZOverstocks
J.A.W. replied to J.A.W.'s topic in Miscellaneous Music
Having done business with ZOverstocks many times my advice would be not to buy used CDs from them, the discs seem to be systematically overgraded, and in my experience their customer service is a mess. -
I've recently had nothing but problems with Amazon marketplace seller ZOverstocks. Three of my recent orders didn't arrive (at least one appeared not to have been dispatched, even though my credit card was charged), the condition of some of the used CDs that did arrive was appalling, far worse than "very good" as described by them, and their customer service didn't reply to some of my e-mails. I got refunds in all cases, some via Amazon after filing "A to Z" claims, but doing business with them has really been a nuisance. Has anyone else had problems with them?
