  1. I've done business with disaac without problems. However, communication with him can be difficult, as he doesn't visit the board frequently. If he paid through PayPal, you could try and contact him via his PayPal e-mail address.
  2. 83 today. Congratulations.
  3. Alas, the BN is also OOP and there is no digital version It is available from Amazon Marketplace sellers. U.S. - http://www.amazon.co... note and roost U.K. - http://www.amazon.co...55145344&sr=8-1
  4. Note that public-domain labels like for instance Jazz Factory and Proper have no access to original sources like metal parts, mastertapes and what have you. Their releases are usually sourced from 78s, vinyl and CDs. If you're looking for a pitch-corrected CD release of the 1/10/1947 Roost date you need the Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings 4CD-set that was released by Blue Note, as was said above.
  5. The Braxton Marsh reissue does indeed have fewer tracks (10) than the original hat release (12). Does anyone have any idea why? By the way, the piano still sounds out-of-place to me.
  6. Couldn't agree more; that's also my main objection, as I've said ad nauseam on this board.
  7. Yep, the widget takes you to Amazon.com, but when you click on "United Kingdom" almost at the bottom of the page, just under the Amazon logo, you will be transferred to Amazon U.K. and you can start buying there; it might get Jim a commission. When you put things in your cart on Amazon.com, they will not show up in your Amazon U.K. basket; all Amazons are autonomous in that respect, widget or no widget.
  8. This is another one of those European public-domain labels that have no access to original sources like mastertapes. The Jazz Messengers store sells both official (including Mosaic sets) and European public-domain releases.
  9. I think you mean 24-bit; there's no such thing as a 25-bit remaster. :g :g OK, I fell for it. Irony often gets lost on the internet...
  10. But have you heard the 25-bit remaster? I think you mean 24-bit; there's no such thing as a 25-bit remaster.
  11. Yep, thanks. What strikes me as odd is that MC is mentioned in connection with his Mosaic label, as none of the rights of the recordings involved are owned by Mosaic. Oh well.
  12. Sad news. I loved his quartet with Desmond.
  13. I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't remember the reply (getting older and all that ) - do you also get a cut when something is ordered from an Amazon Marketplace seller?
  14. Really? I've compared the Complete Hot Five and Hot Seven Recordings 4CD-set from 2000 that Schaap was involved in several times with the John R.T. Davies-mastered JSPs and I don't like it (the Schaap set) at all. It sounds harsh to me, especially in louder passages. Give me the Davies JSPs anytime, they sound much more natural to my ears.
  15. Checked their website and noticed that they're offering more Capitol/EMI-owned stuff. Maybe that's how MC is involved, but that's pure speculation. I really have no idea.
  16. It says is on the tray insert - the print is is bit hard to read, but It clearly says it. Do you have a copy? No, I don't, I was just being curious. Could you post a scan of the insert? Thanks. You don't trust me? Sorry I do not have a scanner... and am technologically challenged. Sheesh man, relax, of course I trust you, why shouldn't I? As I said I was just being (very) curious, that's all.
  17. The prelude I mentioned in my Yates listing above is listed on Vol.3 as "Preludio from Suite No.9 in G major" (1733).
  18. It says is on the tray insert - the print is is bit hard to read, but It clearly says it. Do you have a copy? No, I don't, I was just being curious. Could you post a scan of the insert? Thanks.
  19. Sophie Yates recorded 8 Suites from 1720 (5 on her Vol.2 and 3 on Vol.3), 8 Suites from 1733 (6 on Vol.1, 2 on Vol.3) and a prelude from 1733 (on Vol.3).
  20. I agree, though I used to have problems with some non-musical noises on their recordings; that's why I sold them a few years ago, only to buy them again earlier this year. Are there any HIP interpretations of the symphonies that you prefer?
  21. The title says it all. I've already got valuable information from one of our esteemed board members, but I'm interested in opinions of others too. HIP interpretations only, please.
  22. Where does it say that MC is involved?
  23. Good to hear.
  24. I don't think JETman corrected your post
  25. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the US "Prestige Recordings" box had 13 CDs, with none of the Miles Quintet sides. I think there was a European 16-CD box that included the Miles Quintet tracks. Thus, the entire 16-CD box is currently available as four boxes - Fearless Leader, Interplay, Side Steps, and Miles Davis - The Great Prestige Quintet. I had this American 16CD box from 1991 and, as Felser said above, it did NOT have the Miles Davis recordings.: AMG review and tracklisting: http://www.allmusic....gs-mw0000270877
