  4. I've reported this Nigeria-based spammer. Hopefully someone will do something about it soon.

  6. Why is it that American beers are so, well, let's say "mediocre"? Even Heineken, which I consider to be one of the worst European beers, tastes better.
  7. 70 years now for recordings that weren't yet in the public domain when the new rule came into effect.
  8. Maybe for non-musical purposes. I remember the good people at Mosaic telling me many, many years ago that the maximum duration of music CDs (at the time) was 74 minutes or thereabout.
  9. Seconded, those interpretations are wonderful. One of the great analytical conductors.
  10. The AP Verve hybrid SACDs, including the Stitt, were mastered by the late George Marino. It was one of his last projects before he died.

Oops, I should have known. I had Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus, which I played often, and I have the Mosaic Candid set.

Allen, Can't find it. On which album was it released?
  13. Couldn't agree more.
  14. Those are my favourites too.
  15. According to the San Francisco Chronicle R&B singer Jimmy McCracklin has died. He was 91. http://www.sfgate.com/default/article/Bay-Area-blues-legend-had-65-year-career-4136929.php
  16. Compared to other internet stores their prices were pretty high. That may have contributed to their current situation.
  17. Just got that e-mail. Although I didn't buy much from them (can't remember the last time), it's a shame to see them go. I think it's a wise decision, though, if it helps Mosaic to stay in business.
  18. Any news about the Carter/Bradford and Tapscott releases?
  19. What's his birth date (see thread title) got to do with his passing a year ago?? And what's with the capitals?
  20. I also posted a comment before I realized the thread was started in 2007. However, as far as I know the rule was already there 5 years ago. Anyway, I deleted my comment.
  21. Already posted here:
  22. Same here.
  23. Good points, Peter. Might be a good thread for you to initiate. Yep, excellent post. I always thought the points Peter made were obvious until I started reading a few classical fora...
  24. Then a question for you. Why do you show us photo of individual recordings with performers, conductors included? Why not just post the name of the composer and the composition? I was wondering about that too. Sorry Bev, but I agree with MomsMobley, interpretation is everything. What you're saying is so absurd that I can hardly believe you're really being serious about this.
  25. The seller made a mistake, so according to Amazon Marketplace rules they have to reimburse return shipping. If they refuse, open a case with Amazon.
