  1. Well, in fairness, there WAS an excellent but short-lived set from (European) Sony-RCA on their 'Columbia Original Masters' series from about 2008. It is in excellent sound, about 100 tracks on 4 CDs, but now fetches collectors prices. Not much good to you maybe...
  2. I am pretty sure all the stuff by ST has made it to US cds. I took another look, and Ain't No Way, a quartet with Tyner, is the one I can't pin down... I believe the majority of that session was issued as bonus tracks on "Easy Walker". The title track (with Shirley Scott) was issued as a bonus track on "Common Touch". Ah ah ah. Got it - thanks!

  4. Am I right that one of the new Japanese LTs is new to CD?
  5. Downloaded the Steely Turpentine Mosaic.
  6. Yeah. Suck it up, you wimps! A prophet is never honored in his own country. Which in this case is the interwebnet thingy. O tempora! O mores!
  7. It's covered by "percussion." And there's me thinking 'strings'.
  8. Now on Spotify - so dive straight in!
  9. Really And a big part for piano, but that's a secret, apparently...
  10. O, OC! U, MAIIAWAIB. Allen got it.
  11. Just started to use kindle. I find it fantastic for general reading. Love to get a sample, start reading, then if you want more you pay, otherwise just move on. I find organising and storing books a major pain and kindle solves that too. Interested to hear other views and opinions on uses of kindle.
  12. Apparently not I can. It's all you other guys.
  13. Can this thread be pinned? I'd hate to lose track of it.
  14. It was kind of a shock when Borders went, to see big familiar stores which I had been hanging out in for years just sell up and close. That nearly happened here with Waterstones which was saved by an enthusiast with money. That might not last.
  15. Nature red in tooth and claw!
  16. Like a tree falling in a forest, unheard and unseen...
  17. Wait a minute. Do you mean there are two individuals, one who goes by Maurice "Kalaparusha" McIntyre (MKM) and the other who goes by "Kalaparusha" Maurice McIntyre (KMM)? No. There's Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre, and Makanda Ken McIntyre. To translate it into the language of this board, this one: And this one: Connected only by coincidence? Fishy, if you ask me...
  18. Was *all* of the past black-and-white, or only the parts we can see?
  19. No. Discounting which you find mainly online is limited to 5%. Correct me if I am wrong, someone. Love the Paris bookshops.
  20. Another period misfire. None the worse for that.
  21. So... hesitate to ask... what's the relationship between KMM and MKM? None, right?
  22. I'm trying to remember what Borges does with dictionaries...
  23. Know this already. Like the beat/vibe but not so much the 'tunes'. Thanks for the reminder about this one.
  24. They asked me three times, I said no, so then they helped me along the way...
