I have so many CDs I just rotate through them enough to avoid the complacency thing. Alternatively, I sometimes spend weeks mesmerized by just one CD. Go figure. Mainly, I would never get rid of any of my CDs, even if I realize I haven't spun a particular title in years. I have no way of knowing what I'm in the mood for on a given day. I know some people who buy CDs and get rid of them after one or two listens. That seems like madness to me. This stuff needs to grow on me. Bertrand.

Micheal Cuscuna should be told, or Tom Evered. Bertrand. -
If You Are MF Broke, Stay Away From This Thread

I still think a bunch of these will show up at Barnes And Noble. I think Stefan may have the right idea ... there will be one or more batches to come. Fortunately, I ordered 'only' 18. Bertrand. -
I was at Tower today. The $9.99 Impulse sale is until August 7th, so I'm going to wait and get a couple as part of my August CD purchases. I can't figure out if it's selected titles only. Bertrand.

If their business plan is to assume RVG will be around for another 20 years to remaster these puppies, we're in deep doo-doo. Bertrand.

Is 'Witch Doctor' the Lee Morgan tune? Bertrand.

'the 40 yr virgin is the funniest comedy film since the three amigos came out in the late 80s' Talk about damning it with faint praise! -
We now know these are officially OOP - we suspected it, but now we have proof. Depressing. Everything that could go badly with the Fantasy sale did. I don't like this all sales are final biz. What about defectives? I'll see how my first order goes before I think of ordering more. I can only listen to so much music in my lifetime. I'm already 43! Bertrand.

Same here. I wasn't even going to think about this order for a while (my friends are in no hurry) - I have enough backlog as it is. Just, when I see that others got e-mails and I didn't, it makes me scratch my head. I got free shipping and didn't do anything about this order since. Eventually, if I didn't get an e-mail soon, I was thinking of calling. But now I'm not sure that's such a good idea. Has anyone here actualy had their shipping changed from zero to non-zero because they called, or is it just those who tried to get the free shipping who did not get it (and who 'spoiled' it for all later orders ). Bertrand.

Wayne Shorter is in Ghent tonight (Rotterdam tomorrow). Bertrand.

I've heard nothing yet - I'll call Monday. I don't have any sort of spam filters (yet my penis is still too small, AND I haven't heard back from my Nigerian friend who cashed my deposit) so that can't explain it. Bertrand.

Did anyone ask the lovely Melinda if everything was in stock? I ordered yesterday (combined it with two friends - went way over $100). Shipping was free, but the coupon didn't work. Why pay $2.98 when you can pay $2.69

Noj, Thanks! 'As an example, careful analysis of Jefferson's solo on the leader's Ellingtonian ballad, "Ballad for D.E.," demonstrates that he uses certain notes from the closing phrase of the preceding trumpet solo in his own opening passage, then carefully plays two choruses using the basic harmonic material of the tune as his springboard, only to end his solo immediately before Thomas begins his drum feature.' I love it! Bertrand. -

Please post the parody here so I don't have to read the rest of their crap. If Crouch shows up here, I'm leaving. Bertrand. -
I'm going home and will place my order around 9:30 EST. I hope there's still something left. Bertrand.

I'm thinking of getting 20 at $4 each. And it looks like there's a 10% coupon (catalog2006), although I suspect it won't apply. Chuck, how much was shipping for 33 CDs? I can't find any description of the shipping costs. My prediction: expect Concord to dump these at Barnes And Noble by the end of the year, just like they did for Concord titles. After all the years and hard work Terri Hinte put into to the label, this is how it all ends. Very sad. Bertrand.

It's pretty obvious what the fuck is going on. I stocked up on a number of Fantasy Titles over the year, but I need to go through my paper catalog and pick out the last few titles I'm missing. Then I'll see if any of them are on sale for $8 (bargain). I'm too lazy to look right now - how much is shipping? We knew this was coming, but it still hurts. I will miss Fantasy as we knew it. Bertrand.

Lois Gilbert was married to Cuscuna?!? Bertrand. -
Your idea is interesting, although not really new. I'm thinking about the 'pianocktail' from Boris Vian's L'ecume Des Jours... Bertrand.

Why is this tentative? Bertrand.

***********todays HANKS SPECIAL DAY************
bertrand replied to chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez's topic in Artists
Chuck, I've always wondered about Hank's stay in Chicago. The liner notes to one of the Blue Notes even mention some compositions that Muhal's group would have played. I've never found any copyrights after The Flip, however. Do you remember what type of repertoire they played on those gigs? Standards or Mobley originals? Thanks, Bertrand. -
He was a giant. Bertrand.
