  1. Are Bremen and Basel one CD or two?
  2. The Don Cheadle movie SUCKED.
  3. So the CD may be coming out this year. There is a kickstarter out there, which may be for a documentary or both the CD and the documentary. Further research is needed.
  4. Unissued Lucky Thompson on this? I may need to get it then.
  5. Oh, that might be a better approach anyway. Thanks!
  6. I need a favor from anyone who got this CD. Does the booklet give any sort of contact info for Uptown/David Sunenblick? Thanks! Bertrand.
  7. Vanessa's CD is out today!
  8. He may not have been recorded but there is no way to guarantee one way or the other. There are multiple lists floating around, none of which I have seen...
  9. Hate to burst your bubble, but it seems that they do not have any tapes of Hank at Left Bank. Note that I did not say his gigs were not recorded...
  10. Just got this and I am fucking pissed. The liner notes credit me as working at the Library of Congress. This is an error that keeps following me that was created by an idiot Washington Post reporter. I have never worked there and never will. Glad the Left Bank tapes are all being digitized, but I first tried to pitch this idea 25 years ago, when the tapes were in better shape.
  11. Wait, so I can still buy this?
  12. One Left Bank member has a lot of tapes.
  13. Hmmm...I saw it at the French Film Institute years ago, but maybe never commercially released in its entirety. The Airplane footage does appear in the Airplane documentary.
  14. Edited, damn autocorrect.
  15. Do we have Carla Bley tour dates?
  16. My copy is on the way. I wonder if this is addressed in the notes? The Grant Green in France also was missing a couple of tracks that were floating around elsewhere, I was assuming no good source was found for those tracks. Bertrand.
  17. They stole the idea from the Airplane and Godard. Bertrand.
  18. I want the rest of the Duke Pearson Left Bank.
  19. I think you have neatly summarized what bothered me.
  20. I think you are on the right track. He has to worry about people stealing his ideas, and I guess it made him a bit paranoid. I could not convince him that I could be trusted so I had to walk away. Don't get me wrong, I will recommend people buy the CDs, I just can't give him any more leads, alas.
  21. I don't think he is making that claim but he definitely likes to make a lot of noise around himself. These kinds of endeavors are team efforts, seems obvious to me. He definitely is not what I would call a 'team player'. Lots of take and no give. If he was precluded from doing the favor in return that I asked for, I could have understood. But acting like he did not understand what I was asking for was just insulting my intelligence. There was no way he could not be in possession of the information I was asking for, he could not have done what he wanted to do without it. I used to be in awe and even lined up a lecture for him at the DC Jazz Archives to talk about his work. But I had to walk away. His loss, anyone who works with me know I am meticulous. I could be an asset to anyone who is not trying to treat me like 'the help'. I am involved in a new project which had some initial bumps, but I think now they have figured out what an asset I can be.
  22. He does some but also gets leads from other people, fans etc. I gave him a lead but asked him for a favor in exchange, and then he acted like he did not understand what I was asking him for so I decided I could no longer help him. I have a hunch this lead is also correlated with the new Blue Note agreement based on the names of artists listed. This might have resulted in my being involved in some way, but sometimes you need to walk away from bad situations.
