  1. The Complete Crazy Sunday at the Lighthouse. 6-CD set of Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse All-Stars in 1953 released by the Los Angeles Jazz Institute in 2023.
  2. The Audiolab LP has 3 tracks on the Federal 10-in LP. "Bull Fighter", "Theme" and "Since We Said Goodbye".
  3. The Jazz Factory CD also has 8 tracks from the Audiolab LP AL1538 recorded in LA in early 1954.
  4. That is my problem- uploading from my computer. I will try using IMGUR. Thanx.
  5. I tried JPEG and PDF files and both were rejected as being too large.
  6. Live in Antibes, France. CD on Kipepeo label. This not the 23 July 1967 session that has been released on the Domino Records label.
  7. My all-time favorite occurred when Dave Brubeck was playing "For All We Know" live at the 1958 Monterey Jazz Festival. Midway in the song a plane took off from a nearby airport and was clearly heard at the festival. Brubeck immediately segued into "Off We Go Into The Wild Blue Yonder".
  8. Good question. Releasing two versions would not be economic so the most popular version was released.
  9. Looking forward to acquiring the CD!
  10. Sad story. Very good advice!
  11. Speaking of Woody's "Jackpot" Dave Brubeck Quartet also had a "Jackpot" LP recorded in the Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel in 1967.
  12. The soundtrack for "Vanishing Point" is excellent. So is the movie!
  13. Was recorded on October 9, 1957. Blue Note released it thereafter.
  14. Jack Chambers biography of Dick Twardzik "Bouncin' With Bartok" is a masterpiece!
  15. Dave Brubeck banged away but what a great improvisor.
  16. I would not call Ted Gioia's book stodgy, if you are referring to his "West Coast Jazz" classic. IMHO this is the best book written on the subject. I have re-read it several times and refer to it frequently.
  17. Another TV show "Frankly Jazz". The "Stars of Jazz" TV series was documented in an excellent book by James A. Harrod. There were 130 broadcasts. Extracts from many shows were released on 36 Calliope label LPs.
  18. Not exactly on topic but the Jubilee LP has been issued on CD.
  19. What about Dorothy Donegan?
  20. How about Marian McPartland?
  21. According to the YouTube listing the recording date was 1982.
  22. What kind of disability did Carl Perkins have? I thought he just chose to play his left hand that way.
  23. Son-of-a-Weizen- what is your rationale for cataloging classical CDs by conductor instead of by composer?
  24. Another PJ discography Pacific Jazz/Pacifica Album Discography (bsnpubs.com)
