  1. Right now, this excellent new reording:
  2. This afternoon:
  3. Both Dolphy/LJQ albums on my own CDR.
  4. According to discogs that TOCJ CD was released in 2011 - is that correct? I can't find that stereo issue Dusty Groove lists anywhere else.
  5. The Palladium CD issue I had was stereo. Perhaps either label/seller used the cover they had on some hard drive. The stereo spread is okay. Or do we see the dawning of some new mono fetishism? That said, I like mono, the balance often is better than on some early stereo mixes. The album is nice, Dolphy plays with the same spirit as on the Prestige LP - but this is a totally different lineup. Diaz and Jenkns played on some o the Presige dates, but this seems to be a pickup band using the band name for a one shot record deal. Juan Amalbert probably was not amused.

    Joe Henderson

Thats some of my favourite Joe. I saw his quartet with Rosnes many years ago. Fine all female rhythm section.
  7. Earlier today - will re-listen to these sets over the week.
  8. That'a good one! This afternoon:
  9. I would, but shipping from the USA costs too much.
  10. Those Contemporary albums sound so good, they should have reissued them all on hybrid SACDs.
  11. The original foldout cover must have been somenting to look at! They still have some: https://www.oldies.com/product-view/77982.html
  12. Milhaud is one of my favourite composers! Thanks for that!
  13. I only bought the first edition of the Prestige disco which has fallen apart from frequent use, but I'm lucky to find most of them in a Frankfurt library, even can take them home for four weeks. I use them whenever needed. Great work. Some minor omissions or errors, but only about 1% of the entries. There is another one of the Capitol labels, available only on CDR from some Dutch publisher: https://www.names-and-numbers.nl/Frameset.html
  14. This afternoon:
  15. This afternoon: Excellent organ playing beautiful expert singing. This was one of Brosse's last recordings, he died a few months ago.
  16. Played this again today, it really has some of the best boogaloo tracks made in th 1960's. Carlos Vidal and Carmelo Garcia are great. Recommended. Too bad ...
  17. Excellent recording of 17th century Italian violin music, with only lute as continuo.
  18. My own CDR with Paul Bryant's two Fantasy LPs.
  19. Just had a look on discogs and saw that Lighthouse '69 never was on CD, right?
