  2. Yes!
  3. Maybe this helps, as far as the pic links still work:
  4. Some no-name Orvieto Classico 2020, cheap (3 € a bottle, but rather close to the wine I drank at my favourite pizzeria during my student years).
  5. Yesterday: Not his best solo piano album, and too short with 28 and a half minutes. Sounds like a rather spontaneous affair during a visit to Paris. But his ideas how he arranges the well known tunes are very original.
  6. Another one I remember was a cheap Italian multiple LP box set with Bix Beiderbecke rexordings - pretty comprehensive, but awful cheap sound. I sold it along with a batch of other vinyl.
  7. At the time of my mother's passing I played in a mixed band of Kurdish and German musicians and asked them to play with me. Our leader had composed a beautiful peace for his own mother (still alive then) which was very appropiate.

    Nat King Cole

Found this one, too, only as a bonus track on this reissue. All others listed in Lord are with vocals. https://www.freshsoundrecords.com/don-fagerquist-albums/4280-portrait-of-a-great-jazz-artist.html Yes, Bobby Troup.

  11. Yesterday: Today: But, Most of all: The albums Eddie Harris made for VeeJay are all very good to excellent, IMO.
  12. Will have to pull this from the shelf .....
  13. Like the notes Jon Hendricks wrote for the King Pleasure twofer - a virtual piece of vocalese prose. Those twofers were my introduction to much of this music, and i still have many of them.
  14. I just pre-ordered a copy from JPC.

    Elvin Jones

On The Prime Element, some of the first four tracks are edited. The Mosaic box set and At This Point In Time have unedited versions. They should have reissued that session with Lee Morgan on a seprate CD with new cover etc.
  16. The weekend bottle: SARTORI Bardolino 2020 Bardolino Denominazione di Origine Controllata Last weekend it was this one: MUCCHIETTO Fiano 2021 Puglia Indicazione Geografica Protetta
  17. Beautiful brand new recording: http://www.encelade.net/index.php/en/hikashop-menu-for-products-listing-2/product/26010-bach-french-suites-by-pierre-gallon
  18. There could be more Cuber on it! When he plays, he's great. There was an abundance of talent in that band that was not quite taken advantage of, the was these albums were made. Benson in his notes talks about the freedom he had in selecting the material, but if that is true, he already had an idea about a commercial career.
  19. Mr. Tucker really deserves this! He always wrote good music.
