  1. News to me. Kind of intriguing
  2. Sun Ra Quartet featuring John Gilmore - Other Voices, Other Blues [Horo, Italy 1978]
  3. Now onto 'Cookbook, Vol.1'
  4. I really like that New Land edition too. Bodes well for the Dorothy Ashby box that they're releasing soon
  5. Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis & Shirley Scott - Cookin' With Jaws And The Queen [Craft, 2022] LP 4, 'Smokin'. And it does Today's arrival, in time for the weekend, perfect.
  6. Got my preorder email today so have ordered. International shipping cost a bit steep but after this wait it has to be done. Release date later this month, here's hoping
  7. Thanks, one for the 'listen to' list definitely
  8. What is that? Always intrigued by Amiga
  9. Brandee Younger - 'Brand New Life'
  10. A overly ambitious failure would be too cruel. Maybe less than the sum of its parts. It's certainly listenable but left me wanting more. Most everyone from current London scene in a studio for a few days interpreting or being inspired by original BB
  11. Both on my 'shall I, shan't I' list
  12. Karl Berger & Kirk Knuffke - Heart Is A Melody [Stunt]
  13. No! I'm just sitting and listening for the first time to "Heart is a melody" and wondering anew at Berger's way with melody. I love so many of his albums. Thanks for such an important and maybe understated contribution. Huge loss
  14. On Bandcamp for those not within DG's range and fully streamable https://karlbergerkirkknuffke.bandcamp.com/album/heart-is-a-melody

    Soft spots

    Dorothy Ashby 'Soft Winds'
  16. Interesting, thanks. I can take "terrific, mesmerising"
  17. The second is a favourite but don't know the first one. Seems daft to ask if it's any good as I haven't yet been disappointed by a GH album
  18. Interesting thoughts, thanks. I haven't heard it yet. I am tempted by the fact it's a not dissimilar lineup to the one that knocked me out at Oto. However I have far too many AEOC albums that don't get listened to so why buy another....
  19. Ronald Shannon Jackson & The Decoding Society - Eye On You [About Time, 1980]
  20. That looks very interesting, just bought a cheap LP of it
  21. No, nothing yet. Website said shipping from 31/3 when I last looked so we're a bit late by that. The 3LP Tapscott was delayed quite a bit I think I'm correct in remembering
  22. Organic Pulse Ensemble - A Thousand Hands [2 Headed Deer, Spain 2023]
