  1. Bet that was good I missed her in London just this last weekend
  2. I had every confidence
  3. Great, thanks. I hope Paul Horn figures on that compilation too

  7. I certainly used to dig it, a lot
  8. I have a copy of that in the pile to go to the second hand shop this week, perhaps i should listen to it again beforehand 🤔
  9. Woodstock Workshop Orchestra - New Moon [Palcoscenico Records, Italy 1980] If this was on a more hip label it would be lauded by many more folk than I suspect it is. It'd probably do well with the current 'Spiritual Jazz' crew too Kalaparusha - Kalaparusha [Trio Records, Japan 1977] more Berger
  10. lovely album and a fitting tribute to the great Karl Berger who was 87 when he recorded this
  11. My UK bound order shipped yesterday
  12. Not in London. Today's Brick Lane Jazz Festival I predict will be attended by predominantly under 40s reflecting the multi ethnicity of this city. As will be the artists performing A very good thing, a very vibrant and young scene. Noticeable how often I am the oldest at concerts these days, I'm just in my 60s This isn't relevant to the Jazz Times debate but I think needs saying to just counterbalance your somewhat sweeping statement TTK. This board's demographics most definitely do not reflect much of London and other UK city's Jazz audience at the moment. The grey hairs are still out there but not necessarily in the majority Now back to Jazz Times...
  13. Gideon Nxumalo - Gideon Plays [Matsuli Music, UK 2021 RE] Dollar Brand - The Journey [Chiaroscuro Records, 1977] Side 2 of this is one of the great side long tracks, the oboe on which is credited to Talib Rhynie, their only credit on Discogs. Anyone know more about him? Edit to add: simple Google search reveals it's T.K.Blue who I have come across
  14. Tete Mbambisa - Tete's Big Sound [Mad About Records/The Sun, Portugal 2021 RE]
  15. No but i contacted them and they had received the stock on Monday last week and were hoping to ship later this week, not quite fulfilled that hope it would seem
  16. The Brother Moves On - $he/He Who Feeds You...Owns You [Native Rebel, UK 2022]
  17. The Ethnic Heritage Ensemble CD is back in stock at Jazz Messengers
  18. News to me. Kind of intriguing
  19. Sun Ra Quartet featuring John Gilmore - Other Voices, Other Blues [Horo, Italy 1978]
  20. Now onto 'Cookbook, Vol.1'
  21. I really like that New Land edition too. Bodes well for the Dorothy Ashby box that they're releasing soon
  22. Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis & Shirley Scott - Cookin' With Jaws And The Queen [Craft, 2022] LP 4, 'Smokin'. And it does Today's arrival, in time for the weekend, perfect.
  23. Got my preorder email today so have ordered. International shipping cost a bit steep but after this wait it has to be done. Release date later this month, here's hoping
