  1. Absolutely, and nor do I Great album
  2. Thanks. I got in touch with Red Records, they are releasing remastered CD and LP in September
  3. Thanks that's a really interesting development. Unfortunately the Ethnic Heritage Ensemble release is "no longer available" at Jazz Messengers. Hopefully they'll restock as I've been after that for a long time.
  4. Sorry, thought this was a joke rather than just making fun of a foreign name
  5. Always fancied a copy of 'Seant' but prices are steep for the first Polish presses. I'll be interested to hear what folk have to say about Nahorny too
  6. That's a good one. Purchased my LP from another board member a few years ago now. And another terrific album. Togashi really did make some great recordings
  7. Didn't know of it. Great line-up
  8. Seconded. I thought he seemed in pretty fine fettle at Oto last month. I do remember reading somewhere recently that he suffers from COPD which if that's been exacerbated by playing and traveling could well be the breakdown to which he refers. https://twitter.com/burn_amb/status/1638970211306196992?t=gETA_kA436CYOti7hVQOmQ&s=19
  9. Is that a James Reese Europe album? I hope so as I saw him perform the music at the Barbican.
  10. That's interesting because I thought it was not RFH as there was no choir stalls or organ behind them. It looked like a Barbican backdrop to me. The WR clip was fabulous
  11. I was at the Barbican, don't recall a RFH gig but I did see the quartet twice.
  12. Thanks, I'd not spotted that. I was at the concert
  13. One of my favourite J Mc
  14. first time I've heard this. Streaming the new Strut version. It's very good
  15. A very good and probably important guitarist. His later stuff gets a bit too shreddy for me but anything up to 1972 works fine. Also, often features Harry Beckett which means you can't go wrong. He also plays in Beckett's Joy Unlimited band. Try 'Dragon Hill' for a good starter. There's a couple of recent very good releases on Jazz In Britain which should be streamable. As to why so few recordings form the ICA? I have no idea, too many Happenings instead

    RIP Tony Coe

The album with Derek Bailey still surprises me whenever I listen to it. A great player with a terrific sound.
  17. Ray Russell - Live At The I.C.A. June 11, 1971 [RCA, UK 1971] Fiery
  18. Interesting, I haven't listened to 'Elm' in ages, will do so soon
  19. Bobo Stenson Trio - Serenity By my estimation the most consistently fascinating of all ECM's piano trios. Gearing up the release of a new recording tomorrow
  20. Bobby Caldwell - What You Won't Do For Love Discovering and thoroughly enjoying this album. Shame it's in memoriam.
  21. Nathan Davis Quartet - Rules Of Freedom [Hot House Records, UK 1986 RE]
  22. Donald Byrd - Black Byrd [Blue Note, 1973] Today's arrival, apart from being some great music this is a very good sounding recording.
  23. I don't have either, only 'Nommo'. Guess I should rectify that?
  24. I wondered who would be the first to post this, still not bought it yet as I have the single CD and the Mosaic but...
  25. I saw EP guest with The Necks, that was pretty special Hope you make it over sometime soon
