  1. Mine's in country, so hopefully not far behind . Customs willing
  2. Yes, that's a very good one. I remember the excitement of tracking down the CD in prehistoric times
  3. Otis Taylor - Pentatonic Wars And Love Songs
  4. Brilliant, thank you. I'll see if my pet independent can source it
  5. Two words...Terry Callier Where's @soulpope? He's your man I'd say
  6. I'm listening to this now just because it's a great album title. Sounding great as well
  7. Great to hear, thanks
  8. Certainly makes me want to hear the album
  9. Thanks, will see what I can find Found it, purchased. At £12.00 got to be worth the ride
  10. That looks interesting, is it?
  11. Too much for me, I will pick a few off here and there I suspect
  12. I really don't want to extend this much further but I will say that I didn't really feel personally attacked but the somewhat abrasive nature and words used I found unnecessary. Maybe I'm just too sensitive or "muddle class" to coin a phrase (which actually makes me smile, in a good way). I shall enjoy investigating your interpretations further but by download only as the CD doesn't seem to available over here. Edit to add: found the CD set, didn't realise it was 3Cds, saving up...
  13. Yes, really like this. A lot. May have to buy the album on the back of it I obviously hear the difference in approach with JM but do still like that as well. As I don't know much about James Europe I think the Moran gives me an easier reference and a more direct in. For the same reason, I wouldn't have known this was necessarily referencing JE unless it says so on the box.
  14. Have a rest now then 😃 maybe play some music...
  15. Thanks for articulating what I've failed to in my recent posts @HutchFan I don't disagree with your analogy at all just removed it from my quote as I want to highlight your points about Moran Obviously others can critique the outcome of Moran's choices. It's only really enlightening when that's done with explanation, like @Larry Kart's recent post for which I am grateful
  16. Spending quality time with mine perhaps, not that I've checked the tracking
  17. Thank you for posting this, it's the most in depth obit I've come across. I had no idea that he and Ingrid's relationship started way back at his musical beginning. Also, how I'd love to recordings of that CMS tour to Turkey
  18. Neil Swanson Quintet - 49th Parallel
  19. Thank you for this post, the first in this discussion that provides insight and attempts to explain why Moran's approach might be seen as 'unsuccessful', especially in the eyes of those with knowledge and expertise. This is just what I have been looking for rather than just perjorative descriptors. Larry Kart, are there other factors intrinsic to Europe's music that make Moran's appear not to have hit the mark? I'm genuinely interested as someone who has enjoyed Moran's project both live and recorded. I still reserve my right to enjoy Moran's interpretation though 😀
  20. Definitely. 'Mingus Moves' next up
  21. Exactly, in the good old days it was extra tracks on the CD to tempt us over to that format. What goes around 😃
  22. so easily led...😃
  23. 👍 and I'm listening to 'Let My Children Hear Music' prompted by the same thread despite it not being in that timeframe
  24. My reaction too, I could be tempted by this. I only have 'Mingus Moves' which I consider a masterpiece. As for vinyl, I reckon you could pick up LP copies of all of them for less than $200 surely. You'd miss out on the alternates obviously but...
