  1. The second is a favourite but don't know the first one. Seems daft to ask if it's any good as I haven't yet been disappointed by a GH album
  2. Interesting thoughts, thanks. I haven't heard it yet. I am tempted by the fact it's a not dissimilar lineup to the one that knocked me out at Oto. However I have far too many AEOC albums that don't get listened to so why buy another....
  3. Ronald Shannon Jackson & The Decoding Society - Eye On You [About Time, 1980]
  4. That looks very interesting, just bought a cheap LP of it
  5. No, nothing yet. Website said shipping from 31/3 when I last looked so we're a bit late by that. The 3LP Tapscott was delayed quite a bit I think I'm correct in remembering
  6. Organic Pulse Ensemble - A Thousand Hands [2 Headed Deer, Spain 2023]
  7. OK, so that description definitely piques my interest. And with Togashi onboard too. Time for a listen, thanks for posting @HutchFan I have a Midorikawa that's been top of my wantlist for ages
  8. Cassandra Wilson - Jumpworld [JMT, Germany 1990] Greg Osby and Sound Theatre - [Germany, 1987] The Henry Threadgill Sextet - When Was That? [About Time, 1982]
  9. Music Revelation Ensemble - No Wave [Moers Music, Germany 1980]
  10. because I'm too easily led by posts on this board!
  11. I just looked up the lineup, impressive. I have a Moers Decoding I never play anymore, maybe I should Shannon Jackson & The Decoding Society - Nasty [Moers Muisc, Germany 1981] This recording sounds like some of the players are next door to the studio or down a long corridor, especially Khan Jamal
  12. Yeah, I was really surprised by current prices. I paid no more than £10 five years ago or so. Not quite as good a deal as CT's
  13. Marion Brown - Recollections, Ballads and Blues for Alto Saxophone [Creative Works, Switzerland 1985] Gorgeous solo recital
  14. Thanks for the prompt, going to put it on now, my first listen. Great lineup 👍👍
  15. This is sad, such a great talent. Sounds like he'd not been in the best of health I'm with you on the Morelenbaum collaborations. More recently his work with Alva Noto was mighty impressive. Let's face it his talent ranged far and wide from YMO onwards
  16. Marion Brown - Vista, [ABC Impulse!, 1975] To think I had this lined up for the next clear out. No way, absolute gem of an album
  17. Julius Hemphill - Blue Boye [Mbari, 1977] possibly my favourite Hemphill
  18. Exactly this. Increasingly anachronistic business model means they'll probably just continue to fade away.
  19. Bought my first two big box CD sets in my late 30s when it became easy to do so online, followed by a bunch of Selects and my other three big LP boxes in late 50s. I'm now likely to sell the first two. I'm fairly agnostic about Mosaic, I don't like the alternates running together and really can't see why they can't feature original art work. Much prefer owning individual albums as they become available. I agree with a lot of what TTK says on the other thread
  20. I have learnt so much from here over the 20 years, most of it useful 😀 I hate to think how much I have spent in direct response to posts
  21. Yes, I agree. It kept pulling me back into it when I'd finished it. There's a lot going on, on many levels. It does betray the fact it's a live event where listening like this misses the visual input and impact. That aside it's a statement, definitely
  22. I listened to it three times yesterday. I'll be interested to read what JSngry makes of it. I also prefer her first album over subsequent releases
  23. Them Devon folk...
