  1. Soufflé Continu have already started reissuing Palm. Are they doing the Carroll?
  2. At last. Only copy I ever saw was £500
  3. So did I. Always good to hear Charles's words. I last saw him just pre-Covid and he was in great form. He did some lovely online stuff during lockdowns too Thanks for posting
  4. And for a vegan Northern Soul fan...?
  5. The cover art's pretty interesting too as were the others upthread
  6. 'Theme de Yoyo' surely qualifies. First time I heard it was over a club system (and I had to ask the DJ for the ID) and folk were dancing with nary a chin-stroke in sight
  7. £24! I'd hope it was all solid gold at that price. Glad I didn't splurge
  8. Thanks Pim! OK, kicking myself whilst standing in dunce's corner - I have and really like 'Infinity' so why I didn't get that I have no idea. Friesen, I only know from a very nice album with Paul Horn and he's not someone who easily comes to my mind I thought Chet was too obvious, obviously not! I haven't heard a bad El'Saffar album yet I like Moriyama whose name I know from somewhere and who I shall now investigate I really struggled with that Iyer album (I have many of his others), leaves me completely cold although I tend to really enjoy Sorey. I'd like to apologise to Bobo Stenson for suggesting it might be him The Rudd makes absolute sense and I'll have a look for that album I find Cohen all technique over substance and that track didn't change my mind This probably isn't the place to mention that I have never really got into Mal, sorry Pim. Enjoy your holiday!
  9. I recently had a very successful online transaction for a couple of Strata Easts from this shop who seem to be in Lisbon http://www.carbono.com.pt/
  10. This one https://www.discogs.com/release/14378272-Jamael-Dean-Black-Space-Tapes And if you like it then his more recent one, it's long and features vocals but I think it's very good https://www.discogs.com/release/21767839-Jamael-Dean-Primordial-Waters
  11. They're all quite different in an ambient-y, not very Jazz way. I'd say each has a lot to recommend them but if you put a gun to my head to make me choose one then the latest Nino, the bottom one is the one to go for. I like Nino's output a lot. That west coast scene of which he appears a focus has some impressive players particularly Jamael Dean whose solo work is well worth investigating.
  12. International Anthem this afternoon
  13. Same here, the rendition of 'Case Of You' particularly
  14. 'Equilibrium' is just a terrific album. That Blue Series turned out some cracking music for a time
  15. You sound quite moody about it 🙂 That's a good one
  16. Can't but help think that the UK's Pat Thomas fits Moran's criteria pretty snugly
  17. Pat Thomas & XT, Will Holder - "Akisakila"/Attitudes of Preparation (Mountains, Oceans, Trees) [Edition Gamut, Switzerland, 2022]
  18. Clifford Jordan - Inward Fire [Muse, 1978] Clifford Jordan - In The world [Polydor, UK 1972] Dick Griffin - The Eighth Wonder [Strata East, 1974]
  19. That is very special This again. If Kamasi hasn't listened to 'Don't explain' from this album then my name isn't mjazzg
  20. From that linked Discogs entry " The number 1213 is not a sequential number in the Kudu catalog. It is a combination of the catalog numbers assigned to the two albums that also were released separately: Soul Box Vol. 1 (KU 12) and Soul Box Vol. 2 (KU 13). "
  21. 'Trouble Man' is worth the entry price alone. I tend not to mind sprawling as there's always the potential for more delights to reveal themselves. Not on Yes 3LP sets, obviously
  22. First ever listen to this following your advocacy @Rabshakeh sounding pretty perfect for a steamy London evening
  23. I have the others too and agree about the Laswell/Graves set although the solo set is special too. I haven't gone for the drummers duets as I have a number of earlier releases with that format. I thought the String Qts would be something different, that was my self-justification anyway
