  1. Perennially sits on my 'must buy' list but I never get around to doing so. I like Jaume's music Disc 1. a bit of a Coltrane day having listened to 'Giant Steps' and 'Ole' but this is next level, track 1 is 'India' and there's no going back from where that takes you
  2. Really enjoyed that, good to have some depth rather than just promotional fluff. The prison bootleg sounds intriguing.
  3. Is Billy Harper a secret guest on that?
  4. Yes, the Melford was very tempting too. Something I'd expect at South Bank or Vortex in its heyday
  5. I think it's been that way for a while now although I might say varied rather than adventurous. Did you have anyone in mind? I'm seeing Kahil El 'Zabar there next week but he seems to have been included in "Spiritual Jazz" orbit so I'm expecting a younger audience {which isn't difficult compared to me!). I'm taking advantage of the new early house designed for the more mature Jazz fan....
  6. Selene Saint-Aime - Potomitan [Komos, France 2022] very happy to have made acquaintance with this artist's two albums recently
  7. Ari Brown's good too. Try him with Kahil El 'Zabar or this
  8. 'Scarborough Fair'!
  9. This was my first exposure to Rob Brown and I still rate it But his recordings with William Parker aren't to be missed and O'Neal's Porch is a standout amongst them, I agree
  10. Akira Miyazawa, Masahiko Satoh, Masahiko Togashi, Yasuo Arakawa - Four Units [Union Records, Japan RE]
  11. It's Billy Harper Day at Pim's!! Love those two Today's arrival Sadao & Charlie - Iberian Waltz [Columbia, Japan 1977 RE] this is fiery and fabulous stuff. Are there any other Mariano's in this vein do folk know?
  12. Selene Saint-Aime - Mare Undarum [Komos, France 2020]
  13. I very much hope so, I'd snap it up in a trice, lovely album. Souffle Continu seem to be working on the Palm catalogue.
  14. Baikida Carroll - The Spoken Word [Hat Hut, Switzerland 1979] next up on the keep or not pile
  15. I don't know I'm afraid. It's the only one I've heard. I'm listening to some LPs I've not listened to for a while with a view to a purge and this is in the pile. Not sure which way I'll go on it. It has fans on this board, particularly one @JSngry I should have added that it is worth a listen, definitely.
  16. Hadley Caliman - Iapetus [Mainstream, 1972] second consecutive spin because it intrigues me
  17. My CD preorder is in, can't be doing with RSD
  18. That was my local for a good while and I try and pop in if I'm in the area as often something worth looking at. Their Crouch End shop is now nearer. Tottenham Lane is good but getting a bit pricier I think edit to add: the one I wish I lived or worked close by is Atlantis who seem to have a never ending supply of interesting new stock if instagram's anything to go by
  19. next here Baikida Carroll - Shadows & Reflections [Soul Note, Italy 1982] another from my early years of Jazz purchases. I remember being disappointed that this wasn't freer when I purchased it for £4.95 from Mole Jazz, according to the price sticker. Sounds lovely today
  20. Air - Air Song [Why Not, Japan 1975] what a band!
  21. McPhee's at Oto next week with Decoy, no other horn to steal his thunder
  22. The Muhal Richards Abrams Orchestra - The Hearinga Suite [Black Saint, Italy 1989] revisiting after far, far too long
  23. Or review copies? Nothing better than a Friday lunchtime record shop, especially when it turns up such gems. You're lucky to have a shop in easy striking distance of work (or home). And now you won't feel the need to queue up tomorrow for RSD
