  1. Perhaps they could replace 'Thought For The Day' with daily snippets of the album
  2. Now if Mosaic could only find and release some unreleased Coltrane I'm sure they'd find lots of takers and considerable media interest...
  3. Damn, missed it. All Bolloxit now, go Bojo go
  4. I like vol.1 too. Vol.3 is currently in the post. If I stopped buying all these LPs I might be able to afford an upgrade
  5. Prince Lawsha - Firebirds Live At Berkeley Jazz Festival, Volume 2 [Birdseye]
  6. Dembo Konte & Kausu Kuyateh - Simbomba [Rogue} with thanks to paul secor
  7. Henry Threadgill Very Very Circus - Spirit Of Nuff...Nuff [Black Saint] this line up was responsible for one of my most exciting live musical experiences.
  8. It's an extraordinary album, a favourite amongst many of Mr Threadgill's. I have all the music in the box on LP/CD apart from the unreleased partner session to X-75. Sometimes when I listen to X-75 I think I should have bought the box just for that session but then sense prevails...it's long gone into the stratosphere of out-of-print Mosaic pricing now On vinyl? Interesting to see Ogun riding the wave It wasn't just the media, our dear leader of the time did her best to thoroughly besmirch the man - another moment in the catalogue of her shame (oops, sorry political alert)
  9. Henry Threadgill's Zooid - Pop Start The Tape, Stop [Hardedge]
  10. I was surprised to his death covered by one of our main news programmes yesterday evening. Last Poets are a group I've read more about than listened to. Perhaps I should rectify that
  11. Derek Bailey & Evan Parker - The London Concert [Oto Roku]
  12. Yukihiro Isso & Roger Turner - Takanehishigu [Oto Roku] Wolfgang Fuchs - So-und? So! [Uhlklang]
  13. Sorry. If I had the right technology I'd see you right but sadly not
  14. New York Art Quartet - Call It Art [Triple Point], LP 2 more Baraka
  15. Thanks Sonny Murray - Sonny's Time Now [DIW, Japan] First listen to this new arrival - powerful stuff edit to add: wish I could read the Japanese notes
  16. Yes, it was the final day of a weekend of one-day line ups in London over the last couple of weekends https://www.allpointseastfestival.com/presents/ I'm of the vintage now where I go just for the latter part of the day rather than try and make it all the way through!
  17. Last Night - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Patti Smith, Psychedelic Furs Patti Smith was just sensational. I've seen her four or five times in the last few years and she gets better. She hushed an outdoor crowd of thousands by opening her set reading excerpts from Howl in recognition of Ginsberg's birthday - very special
  18. Thnkas, I've found it on Spotify. On one listen only I tend to share your reservations but also look forward to Paul's views. On a similar note, I've often wondered about tis release. Any views anyone? Contains a lot of musicians I have a lot of respect for
  19. That looks like a very intriguing combination of musicians. How well does it work?
  20. Prince Lawsha - Firebirds, Live at Berkeley Jazz Festival vol.1 [Birdseye] Side 2 is particularly striking - Lawsha and Caliman weave a lovely tapestry but the Hutcherson, Williams, Moffett trio also come into there own.
  21. Bey's a very prominent presence throughout so if you're not a fan I'd suggest avoiding
