  1. That's a lot better than "promising". If it is easily available to you, grab it
  2. Just received a dispatch notice for my Amazon order from earlier this evening...promising
  3. I've ordered. Delivery by 9.00 pm tomorrow - we'll see
  4. That's great news, thanks for posting. My order is in.
  5. Pre-order came up trumps a couple of days ago, UK too Yes, very strong. A highlight release of the year so far. I was always interested off the back of the India Nav reissue which blew me away. I really get your Kwela reference. There's an evident heft of experience that is lightened by great writing so it sounds very contemporary as well as rooted.
  6. Alan Braufman - The Fire Still Burns [Valley Of Search] very much enjoying this strong statement from all involved, including liner notes from Mr Thornton of this parish
  7. Always rated this one too. Great line-up
  8. There's a couple of Amazon sellers. I might jump for this
  9. Marshall Allen & Kash Killion - Two Stars In The Universe [Little Rocket Records] great album but ever since I bought I've been troubled by an unidentifiable noise on a couple of tracks. anyone else have the LP? and now... Itaru Oki - Genso Note [Offbeat Records] RIP
  10. Just read this too. Sad. I'd add his appearances with Pilz on M.P. and FMP That band was great. Also his leader FMP too. I have Genso Note but no other Japanese releases.
  11. But we've taken back control...
  12. Blue Note's UK site still showing next week too...I'm going remain hopeful https://shop.bluenote.com/*/Tone-Poet-Series/It-s-Time-LP-Tone-Poet-Series/6MZB0V3C000;jsessionid=CF6801C6AA7C6030F1C19CC8B107D2B6.t1
  13. I guess you know about the download option from the label https://anothertimbre.bandcamp.com/album/olivia-block
  14. I'm confused, which title has been delayed? 'It's Time' or 'Demon's Dance'. Juno still showing next week availability for the former
  15. I really like how musicians are issuing download-only releases as a way of gaining extra income during these difficult times. I'm assuming their overheads are relatively low and they are exploiting their library of older recordings. This is a fine example.
  16. Nice, good to see. Will definitely investigate this one, thanks for posting
  17. Similarly for me really. I've been a big Sclavis and Texier fan for many years but never really looked backwards. Now Tusques, Portal, Jouk Minor have been investigated largely due to posts here. Alongside which i very much enjoy a lot of the Souffle Continu label's reissues
  18. 'Free Jazz' was my entry point not very long ago, because of this thread. I consider it right up there. Others on this board know a lot more about Tusques than I do but two very good albums I've listened to this morning and that took me to Finders Keepers and the new reissue are I'm pretty sure the Finders Keepers catalogue is all on Spotify if you're so inclined and not a reissue but still very good indeed https://nivuniconnu.bandcamp.com/album/intercommunal-dialogue-1-2 beware the LP is cut at 45rpm
  19. More Tusques from Finders Keepers on its way imminently https://www.finderskeepersrecords.com/shop/francois-tusques-la-chasse-au-snark-the-hunting-of-the-snark/
  20. Anyone else surprised to see Paul Lytton drumming on the '69 session? Not his usual habitat. Also, I'm going to find the announcers very tiresome each time I listen to this, they really break up the run of the music which is fabulous. Their inclusion may make the difference for me to purchase or stream. I really can't see what they're meant to add beyond quaint historical context - a mistake I feel.
  21. Iskra - Jazz I Sverige '75 [Caprice] fascinating improvisations
  22. The samples of this sound great. Lovely cover too, will look good on the LP version
  23. One's the high street chain based on shifting units the other's the local indie based on consumer connection and shifting fewer units. I'm sure other analogies abound. When I saw the writer was in Galaxie 500 I had to smile, quintessential Indie band which isn't a bad thing at all but easy to see why he loves Bandcamp. He probably had trouble getting his CDs stocked in Tower and HMV back in the dark ages
  24. I hadn't read them but I feel compelled to now I saw the Orchestra in London about five years ago having not heard any of their music, just booked on reputation. They were tremendous. I definitely heard how the reputation was gained. The other thing i remember is the CDs for sale on her merch table were crazily expensive, about £25. Was pleased when 'Data Lords' was available as a download.
