  1. Love that World Experience LP
  2. Crazy Jazz have it listed at £24 which is a crazy price. Cheaper from CDBaby at $21
  3. How about these two Paul Horn's. Both work for me, in different ways and on different levels.Forgive me if they've alreday been posted, I did look but sometimes I don't see
  4. well at least it sent me back to this one nice cover
  5. That's frightening! Why would a very contemporary Jazz duo want to have that cover art? Is it a concept album perchance
  6. Yes, it was a good morning's listening this afternoon, two featuring James Newton preceded by
  7. and it was probably as cold in Wrexham as it was on the cover of the LP!!
  8. British DJ, broadcaster and erstwhile Jazz fan Gilles Peterson reportedly has a separate house to store his collection (variously 30000-50000).
  9. Yes, Wired is the highlight for me too. The New Phonic on Wergo is a real favourite and one of the reasons I bought the box. I don't know the Kagel but will investigate Edit to add: checked the Kagel on Discogs £££!!
  10. LP 1, New Phonic Art. Possibly the least successful recording of the three ensembles featured in the box followed by John Stevens/Evan Parker - Longest Night, Vol.1 [Ogun] Decidedly successful
  11. Ornette Coleman - Who's Crazy, Volume 2 Finally plugged the gap in my collection. What marvellous music this is, it's like discovering Ornette all over again. I like it when that happens with an artist you think you know well
  12. thanks, I'll take a look
  13. Any specific Katherine Young recommendations?
  14. That's the one I regret missing the most
  15. Well, I definitely envy those of you who are near enough to attend. If I had the wherewithal I'd be there in a shot if only for "Women with an axe to grind" and New World Pygmies but I'd definitely hang about for a lot more Have a good time, those that go. All reports back will be read with interest
  16. Definitely Nicole Mitchell. I've not heard a disappointing album by her, no matter the line up, and I've heard quite a few by now. She visited London a couple of years ago and played Cafe Oto in duet with Mark Sanders to an embarrassingly small audience (maybe partly due to Joelle Leandre pulling out and also the Arkestra were in town). The concert was of a very high calibre, great improvising from them both. Available as a recommended download from Oto's site. I'd love to see one of her larger ensembles live
  17. The Hill's the one for me. Also pleased I have the Hutcherson, Carter/Bradford and Tolliver (quartets).Moncur would be right up there but I had it all on LP so didn't jump wish I had the Rivers and Tolliver big bands
  18. Bill Dixon Orchestra -Intents and Purposes [RCA France] Not listened to this for a while, this really is startlingly good music next up... side 3, Marzette Watts and Robert Pozar
  19. That is a great doc.Borrowed it from a friend when it came out and never bought my own copy, wish I had now. Goes for ££ these days
