  1. Palle Mikkelborg - Ashoka Suite [Metronome, Denmark 1970] It's taken a while to track this down but I'm very pleased I have. A while ago I started a thread about trombone and vibes front lines, this has four trombones with its vibes!

  9. Thanks Steve. I'll check out Sawyer's releases
  10. They're probably using yours and other's shipping money to fund the next production run, small one-person (?) endeavour, big project
  11. Looks very interesting to me. I like Mette and Zeena but don't know Ryan Sawyer. Can you ask them to come and play in London please Steve...
  12. I'm pleased I didn't go for this now, having bought four of the series from DG I think that's enough for me. If I'm honest from what I've heard the quality of the recordings and some of the music too isn't up to much further investigation on such a big scale. For those of you who are all in I hope it turns up and you feel differently about the product.

  23. I'm pleased to hear that some of the music is prompting follow ups. I guess I knew that the selection might be presenting a few unknowns and was hoping that they may be of interest I did enjoy it John, perhaps moreso than some of the listeners 😀
  24. I've definitely come across recordings where whistling is credited, one quite recently but can't fit the life of me remember what they are at the moment. Also unlikely to be Bebop, more likely recorded on Emanem or similar...
  25. I didn't know, that's sad. Leaves a hell of a legacy
