Recently I won an auction for a Hank Jones Savoy LP. It was described as... Near Mint Minus! I thought I would take a chance on it because it seemed like a good deal even for a VG++ record. It turned out it was in pretty bad shape, but as I had just moved I didn't have my stereo at hand and wasn't able to play it at that time. I didn't have the time to go though a lot of trouble just to check the LP, so I ended up giving the seller positive feedback anyway. Of late, I've been disappointed almost every time I've gotten LPs from eBay. No more of that for me.

I think it was actually out on CD once in Japan. The music is rather lightweight, despite a couple of good soloists.

So far, I've received what I've ordered from Caiman. However, I was a bit disappointed in finding that a Blue Note disc was the copy-controlled Euro version, allthough it was shipped from the US. My first - and hopefully last - copy protected CD.

Art Blakey "Theme from the Golden Boy" (original stereo Colpix) This is really one of the most enjoyable Messengers albums! Particularly good to hear Shorter's arrangements for the eight-horn frontline.

But I was confused by some catalog numbers I had written down; do both Emanon 17039 and 17040 refer to the same "Historically Speaking" set?

There were just these two, produced by Gigi Campi himself. I think there were two more Emanon 2 CD sets, "Historically Speaking" and "The Power of Positive Swinging", aside from the one Brownie mentions which must be "Blowing the Cobwebs Out". Never seen any of them, though.

There were at least 20 studio albums, so a complete box would probably be too big to really sell. But I'd buy anything from this band! Still looking for many of the original albums, too... Previous thread.

A friend of mine is using a rather old Audiowerk card, and it is really very good for recording. His card has an external panel with RCA jacks, although I'm not sure how it's connected to the sound card.
