  1. I'm preserving this for posterity. This must be the first time someone IN THE VERY FIRST POST OF A THREAD HE STARTED HIMSELF, ask whether he has taken it off-topic. Only on this board and only with Rooster Ties!
  2. kinda young, kinda wild anyone out there can answer jazzhound's question while I keep RT contained?
  3. Mike that seems to be the expanded single disk re-issue of the Barney album. There was a second disk titled More From Barney At The Club Saint-Germain. Both disks put in a cardboard sleeve make up the boxed set I was referring to (Link to Amazon.de listing).
  4. I believe it's quite hard to find. Amazon.de marketplace lists a copy offered from Spain. Looks a bit dubious to me. I haven't found any listings elsewhere.
  5. I have recently been listening to the Temoin Dans La Ville soundtrack again (available on Jazz in Paris: Jazz et Cinéma Vol. 1) and found a copy of the double disk set of the Saint Germain material you refer to last week. Many thumbs up.
  6. Drain all peatlands, boost 10.000 years worth of carbon into the atmosphere. That'll help. But wait until I figured out the backgorund of their beauty please...
  7. you're scaring me!
  8. You do realize that as long as the laws of physics remain as they are no one could ever see the Board register a participant total of zero. Aaah the cat in the box! how do you know brownie, that when you enter and there is noone else here, that there were zero people visiting this site just before that??? answer: the number of participants during the last 15 minutes is recorded so if it says one user when you enter, it were zero just before that. My guess is B3er can simply view this info in his stats. and BTW grey: if brownie wants an audience, his phrasing is correct. He's the focus and the others are his crowd. It takes a lot of interaction with them french to pick up on these subtleties of grandeur.
  9. CDs go OOP because storage costs money. Besides the music, poeple will expect to get art work and will measure it all against certain standards. A CDr is not a CD. A Xerox copy or print-out is not an original offset print on glossy paper. Modern techinques sure do allow to bring out high quality stuff on a request basis, but the infrastructure will need to be installed. And as Dan pointed out: old & large horses are not that easy to move. Furthermore I think for a company moving towards a copy-protect system, selling CDr copies themselves may be viewed as oxymoronic.
  10. in germany presents are indeed opened on Christmas eve. Christmas day is reserved for eating a lot.
  11. beer is a good medicine to make the belly bigger
  12. oo-lala! anyhow, the original article seems to ride high on politically popular ideas in some large industrial states refusing to admit they may be part of what's causing the world to collapse under the extreme stress that's put upon it. No, it was them old stupid cave men who did the damage and anything done by those brutes must be so close to being entirely natural and therefore beyond criticism that we shouldn't really worry about it. Because if nature is what you want, nature is what you're gonna get. It's the same people who argue that volcanos do more harm than I don't know how many cars. Well they do, but that really is not an excuse to make the mess bigger now is it? If everyone would show a stance like that democracy would collapse because no one would vote and people would starve because bakeries would argue that their production is so tiny compared to the total that they might as well stop making bread. True of course but leads to a mess when all the bakeries think the same. If the people of this world would just start thinking the same we might be able to avoid the biggest mess we've ever faced.
  13. and one more again! (AGAIN? YES, AGAIN!) congratulations, I guess God has a birthday everyday. Even if He's only 62nd in line. Is this a software glitch?
  14. is this a software glitch (it would have to say 100 in next years calendar and that seems not possible) or is God62 pulling our legs and is this gonna go on for another 99 days? :rsly:
  15. Roi Ubu has lost some weight!
  16. cool. Thanks for sharing. We used to have an alarm clock like that. Thank goodness it broke. I really hated that sound. Nice performance, not that I went screaming around the room out of shere excitement. But, nice nonetheless.
  17. I have been here all alone once, together with a scary anonymus guest following me around. scary
  18. can we have september 19 "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" added to the Board Calender please? :rsly:
  19. a very brave and cool idea. I'll try to fit this disk in with all the other stuff I recently got. You do realise you're asking a lot of people if want them to make you see the light. This was the second or third jazz album I bought and I didn't buy it just for fun way back when I really had no money at all. This means the light had hit me already and it hit in those deep recesses that can hardly be caught in words. I'll try though.
  20. You're having your meeting in Vermont then?
  21. woa. cool beans! pity I don't have my disks with me. I want to listen closer to this.
