  1. 3 people with Prez in the avatar, cool beans!
  2. Hmmm... a new format awaits - post the answers (artists names only) in advance of distribution, but not in order. The game would then be to figure out which cut is which. Might not be as easy as it sounds! DON'T YOU GET ANY OF THEM WEIRD STRANGE IDEAS LIKE POSTIN' THEM DAMN ANSWERS OUT OF ORDER YOU VERMIN!!!!!
  3. Klunk!
  4. I hope the copy I ordered is underway. Not that my ears or system are any good, but Moose and I can put our two not-so-good together and maybe come up with something decent.
  5. yeah, it has to do with how the warmth is distributed within your CD player, terribly technical all that, but bottomline is, it works. need one of these I believe:
  6. I'm stealing it. you can have "Wallpaper" as well

couw likes it smelly too. As Geoff pointed out, there are some ECM albums out there that were originally recorded for Japo. I believe Paul Bley with Gary Peacock (ECM 1003 ST) is another one of those. Low-fi but much more enjoyable than the clinical ECM sound for me.

I uploaded a word doc on my ftp with the cover/booklet and tray card. All of the above designs are in there and you can simply click and drag the one you like best to fit neatly beside the backcover/linernotes. Print out the parts you want et voilà. Orange Slice cd booklet & traycard (800 Kb)
  11. I hope I didn't go too far - I'm afraid I did not read that initial post carefully enough - I'll do better next time. My apologies, if appropriate. just don't do it on the next test, pal

couw did his little cover art for Steamboat - Orange Slice. Please let me know which one you like best. Sorry to take this thread a bit off topic, but it seems to be as meandering and open ended as the jazz-style it is discussing, and it doesn't fit snug under its title either, so what the hell. Maybe we should open a Free Jazz Hypervolume (no corner or space would do justice) thread traycard: spine:
  13. be patient, it's worth the wait
  14. OUCH!
  15. from my personal stocks: Hello Kitty Mayonaise! VINCENT: But you know what they put on french fries in Holland instead of ketchup? JULES: What? VINCENT: Mayonnaise. JULES: Goddamn! VINCENT: I seen 'em do it. And I don't mean a little bit on the side of the plate, they fuckin' drown 'em in it.
  16. don't tell me the search string, I don't think I really want to know...
  17. It's because radio DJs tend to talk over the instrumental introductions and only shut up once the pop-singing starts-- People think a song starts with the lyrics, hence an instrumental track never starts and they can talk over it all they want.
  18. FREE BEER FOR EVERYONE!
  19. ANOTHER TEXAN ???!!!!
  20. We'll do that. German Police = easy to annoy, 'cause humour ain't in the book, and if it's not in the book, wel... Howzabout Texan police?
  21. I spent a night bading in sweat. After that things were more or less okay (save for feeling rather tired) Is this a worldwide thing?
  22. start counting the corners you turn
  23. whatever you guys like to pile on me, I'll stick to my trusty local liquid gold preferably in larger quantities have one too!
  24. Is anyone else having a difficult time to "get into" these discussions? I continually have to take a look at my own comments to recall the actual track on which comments are being made. Maybe in this respect the 2disk thing was not such a good idea after all; I really got into the previous sets, almost knew them by heart and could follow discussions without referring to the disks or my own comments; the tunes plaing in my head as I read what others thought about them. This test provides too much for me to grasp in such a short time. Definitely also a fault on my part as I am occupied with many things at the moment, but still a point of critique. The music is still way cool though.
