Happy Birthday Paul! Looking forward to the next CD!!

It's halftime of the A&M/Oklahoma game, and the Aggies have scored 10 points. 10 points! This was a team that was ranked in the top 10 earlier this season. Frustrating to be a fan of this team. When Billy Gillispie bolted for Kentucky, and they brought Mark Turgeon in as coach from Wichita State, it looked like they weren't going to lose a step. Not so. This team has a bunch of quality big men (DeAndre Jordan, Joseph Jones, and Bryan Davis), and yet they never pound it inside. That should be their offense until someone can shut it down. Instead they spend their time shooting 15-20 ft jumpers constantly, so they don't get fouled, and if they're not shooting well, it's game over. They were a lock for the NCAA tourney earlier on, now I think they're gonna end up in the NIT. Aarrrgh.

Harland's a solid drummer. He was on Lloyd's "Sangam" with Zakir Hussain, as well as "Jumping the Creek". I spoke with him last year on the SF Jazz tour, and he was excited about the Lloyd Quartet w/Moran. I'm looking forward to this recording.

There are some phenomenal prices on the classical boxes, also (e.g., the 12-disc Neville Marriner Complete Mozart Symphonies for 10 bucks and change). But maybe that classical stuff's a bit over your head. Well duh, I *AM* an Aggie.

Thanks Mikelz! I have a couple of SD discs right now, though not all of 'em. My only concern was whether there's been significantly better sounding reissues since then, or discs with bonus material. Doesn't seem to be the case here. And for these crazy prices it's stupid not to pick up stuff you're even half-way considering. Like you I am pretty set on all of the jazz boxes I wanted from BMG. And for the most part, the rock stuff too.
