  2. So I hear from some of my friends down there, that Free's really spreading the good word in Florida lately: ....keep up the good work, buddy!
  3. Stop by Conn's house in Toledo for a quick game of chess before you leave!
  4. Happy Birthday!
  5. Journey's now culturally acceptable, since Tony Soprano gave them the thumbs up. So you're off the hook whether you were coherent or not!
  6. Thanks for the heads up. This one's going on my to-get list.
  7. But they have earthquakes and volcanoes out there. Isn't there anywhere in America where there aren't disasters waiting to happen (hurricanes etc) or horrid weather in the winter? MG Volcanoes....um...? I don't think volcanoes are a major concern in the Western U.S. in general, but MG is correct. In addition to volcanoes in Hawaii and Alaska, there are volcanoes in Washington down into California. Excerpts from this U.S.G.S. site: ...Few places on Earth allow closer or more dramatic views of volcanic activity than Mauna Loa and Kilauea volcanoes on the island of Hawaii. Their frequent but usually nonexplosive eruptions make them ideal for scientific study. ...Volcanoes of the Cascade Range erupt far less frequently than Kilauea and Mauna Loa, but they are more dangerous because of their violently explosive behavior and their proximity to populated and cultivated areas in Washington, Oregon, and California. ...Recent violent eruptions have demonstrated that volcanic hazards do exist in some areas of Alaska, even though it is sparsely populated. Alaskan volcanoes have produced one or two eruptions per year since 1900.
  8. We had some family friends and their kids visiting the past few days, and took them out to the beach yesterday. They recently moved down to Texas from Illinois. After about an hour of strolling the beach and jetties, my buddy told me it felt colder out there at about 57 F, with the wind and humidity (and salt spray), than it did up in Illinois (Quad Cities area). I had to laugh, because I've been up there in January before, and that's some kinda COLD up there!
  9. Happy Birthday!
  10. No guarantees the Cowboys will get to the NFC title game for sure. Especially with how they've played the last 3-4 games. But, if you actually watched the Packers/Cowboys game, you'll know that Favre played terribly while he was in, and the Packers only responded and turned it into a game after he left with his injury. Rodgers played exceptionally well for someone with as little playing time as he had. Case of rallying around the backup or something.
  11. Free's a great guy!
  12. This thread suddenly is asking for a user name and password. Anyone else experience that?
  13. Herbie Hancock - River: The Joni Letters Lee Morgan - Indeed! Lee Morgan - Candy
  14. Ignored my advice? Just kidding! Let us know what you think of it. I like it, but tend to forget about it when I'm reaching for some PT to spin. I guess cuz it's so skinny, it escapes my glance.
  15. Well, the Cowboys pulled out the win tonight. They certainly weren't the same team after TO's injury though. They need to beat the Redskins next weekend to ensure homefield advantage throughout the playoffs (assuming GB wins out). Would be nice if they can win with a dominant running game vs. the Skins, then rest up and try to get their guys healed during the first round bye. Alot of dinged up guys on both sides of the ball.
  16. Alot of Yoko Romo masks at the Dallas/Carolina game tonight, LOL! Doesn't seem to be affecting Romo's game though. He's had a solid first half, and his thumb seems fine. 17-7 Dallas at the half. T.O. hurt his ankle or something though, so the Pokes are playing with Crayton, Hurd, and Austin as their WRs. That doesn't inspire fear in too many other teams, I bet. Would be nice if T.O. and Terry Glenn were both on the field some day again. Dallas' solid NT, Jay Ratliff, got hurt too, though I don't know the extent of his injury. And C Andre Gurode was already out - Cowboys have ALOT of injuries lately (not to mention Roy Williams' suspension).
  17. That's why I said "I'd be interested in hearing live music (by any and all of our board member musicians who could be there to perform), and socializing with board members". I like the idea of direct and personal interaction with other board members. I never suggested a get together was a bad idea. In fact, I think I agreed with the idea of having all the board members who are musicians playing at a show in Chicago a few weeks ago. I still don't care for the thought of a conference that we pay to attend, in order to see panel discussions. I'd rather pay to see the music, and hang and socialize (and call Conn names).
  18. If I can make it, I'd be interested in hearing live music (by any and all of our board member musicians who could be there to perform), and socializing with board members (and calling Conn names). Not sure what the discussion panel would be for, or if it would be of interest. Is it related to Organissimo, the band? Organissimo the board? Jazz in general? Not sure I get the point. I wouldn't mind making a trek to the Jazz Record Mart or something, but I'm also not sure trying to put together some sort of "record convention" at the O-show would be worth it either. Music and socializing gets my vote!
  19. As long as we can drink beer and call each other names.
  20. Those ladies gotta be getting a little long in the tooth! Heck, even the 80's strippers are probably in their mid 40's at least, by now!
  21. Yep, but then i couldn't rearrange Aloc's title properly!
  22. Really suck(y) jazz musicians as golfers:
