Blame CERTAINLY deserves to be foisted upon Paterno (and numerous others). He knew prior to the McQueary incident about Sandusky's issues, and continued to allow him around the PSU football facilities with young children. Surely he knew things weren't right for those children. Then when McQueary tells him he witnessed something improper, it was Paternor's responsibility RIGHT THEN to report it. Not wait for days. He enabled Sandusky, from the time Sandusky was forced to retire through and including the McQueary incident. End of story. Nobody is agreeing with your viewpoint, Goodspeak. At all. I hope you're quicker to report things when you find out about them than McQueary and Paterno were. For the victim's sakes. -

I'd forgotten Sandusky had been retired by the time of McQueary's witnessing of the shower rape. It doesn't change the fact that it occurred in the athletic facilities that Paterno was ultimately head of, though. And Paterno had a responsibility to do more than just mention it to his boss, especially knowing that Sandusky essentially had free reign of those facilities. -

Vindicated?? Seriously, he was informed someone on his staff was sexually abusing children, and essentially did NOTHING. Oh yeah, he reported it to his boss. And then watched as nobody did anything. And went on about his business as if nothing was wrong, knowing what was going on. Knowing Sandusky continued to have free reign of the athletic facilities and continuing to bring small boys around. He should have gone to the police from Day One, screw the "report it to the boss and forget it" mentality. I hope he slept well from that night forward, knowing that nobody was doing anything for those children, and any further potential victims for each day forward until Sandusky was finally arrested. Paterno was not the abuser, but he was effectively a child-rape enabler. I disagree with Ray above, he was an enabler. Amen. -
I think you mean a correct call here or there? Seemed like all three OKC losses had controversial calls that favored the Heat, IMO. Just a coincidence, I'm sure.

Ditto to both posts. I'm still disappointed in my Spurs blowing 4 games in a row, but have come to realize how truly well the Thunder played in those games. Go Thundersonics!

He's actually not 24 until September! And he's that young because he was only a Texas Longhorn for about 3 months. But he was pretty clearly the best player on the court during that college season too, in every game he played. Check this out: Naismith College Player of the Year (2007) John R. Wooden Award (2007) AP College Player of the Year (2007) Oscar Robertson Trophy (2007) Adolph Rupp Trophy (2007) Big 12 Player of the Year (2007) NBA Rookie of the Year (2008) NBA All-Rookie First Team (2008) 2010 FIBA World Championship MVP 3× NBA All-Star (2010–2012) 3× NBA scoring champion (2010–2012) 3× All-NBA First Team (2010–2012) NBA All Star Game MVP (2012) ...that's not too shabby a resume for a 23 year old!

If the Spurs have any chance on Wed night, they need to start fighting for offensive rebounds. Seems like they were all jacking up 3 point attempts, and everyone would immediately take off toward the other end of the court. Their game lately has devolved into Parker or Ginobili on pick and rolls, or Duncan shooting a 10-20 footer. Nobody else is doing anything, except jacking up 3 pointers. What happened to the rest of the game they were excelling at during the 20 game winning streak (and the earlier streaks during the season too)??

SI.com's Ian Thomsen felt that was a James foul, not a Garnett foul - here's his description of the play today: "...and then when Boston was seeking to reclaim the lead, James would hook his left arm under Garnett's right armpit and pull Garnett down on top of him. If a footballer for Liverpool (the team James owns in a minority role) had done such a thing the press in England would have decried it as a "cynical" foul, but in our country it goes down as ingenuity."

Are those your ticket stubs? Yes, they are! What was the "pillow" concert?

I think the officiating affected the outcome of this game. That overtime play where Wade knocked Rondo in the head should have been a foul, resulting in two (likely) made free throws. And the continuation of play wouldn't have happened, so the Heat wouldn't have made that basket - that's a 4 point swing on one missed call. In a game that the Heat won by 4 points. Also, the play later where Wade kicked Garnett should have been called an offensive foul. Instead, Garnett is called for the foul, and Wade gets the free throw and 3 point play. With the correct call, those 3 points don't go on the board either.

The WCF should be very exciting and competitive, even if you're just an EC fan.

When you score 42 points and have 0 ASSISTS, it's hard to complain that you're not getting much help. That suggests ball-hog, not team player. I'll agree that there's really not much on that team other than Bryant though. I don't think Bynum is that tough or focused. Artest is too volatile. Gasol's time in LA has passed. The rest of 'em? Sessions - eh. Hill - eh. Blake - eh.

Happy Birthday, Chuck!

Better check your sources again - there were numerous back-to-back games during the regular season. The Spurs had at least 20 of them this season. Plus, they had at least two back-to-back-to-back games, 3 in a row. Clippers/Spurs have back-to-backs today and tomorrow as well. Not sure if that helps or hurts one team more than the other.
