HEB's all we've got here, unless you count Super Walmart, which I don't. HEB ran Albertson's out of town 20 years ago, who couldn't compete volume-wise. Generally happy with HEB's customer service, prices, and products. As much as you can be, anyway. -

Roy Haynes tomorrow night (Fri 3/30) at the Bass Concert Hall in Austin! -
Sean Payton suspended for 1 year. Gregg Williams suspended indefinitely. Mickey Loomis suspended half the year. Wow. Oh, and Tim Tebow has apparently been traded to the NY Jets for a 4th round pick and a bag of chips. Double-wow. I think that's not gonna help Mark Sanchez, with the Tebow worshippers rooting for him to start there.
-
I can't imagine any team in their right mind wanting Tebow as their starting QB now. Maybe as a developmental backup, but not a starter. Unless there's enough fan-worship in Florida still for him to go back and play for the Jaguars.

Weihenstephaner Korbininan Doppelbock - very nice! -
Portland should have drafted Kevin Durant in 2007 instead of Oden. Durant's a stud.

I never got the Luke Walton thing in L.A. He seemed very one-dimensional. And I'm surprised the Rockets were willing to take on old Derek Fisher, unless it's just a money saving contract-dump kinda thing for them. The Spurs traded a 1st round pick and Richard Jefferson for another go-round with Stephen Jackson. Seems like alot for him at this point. I hope he's got something left in his tank too. Tony Parker's been having a great year as the undisputed team leader - hope they can do something in the playoffs this year. They're really limiting Duncan's minutes, which seems to have energized him, but Ginobili's been hurt quite a bit. Some of the role players have really stepped up though - and I really like Kawhi Leonard so far.

Great pictures, Kinuta (except for the Burger King!). I miss Japan - lived in Tachikawa as a kid, and loved every moment of it. And that Tower is amazing - 2nd tallest structure in the world. I remember being impressed by the "old" Tokyo Tower back in the 70's. -

Guess it's time to start this season's football thread, since 2011 is long over... Alot of activity going on since the start of free agency yesterday! Lions have re-signed Megatron to a ginormous $132M contract, largest ever for a WR. Peyton Manning still on his tour of teams, having visited with Denver, Arizona, Miami (I think?) and now Tennessee. Be interesting to see where he ends up, and how effective he is once he's playing again. The Colts meanwhile have dumped just about everyone of value on their team, making me wonder if Andrew Luck is even gonna want to play there in the first place, lol. I'm almost wondering if they won't surprise everyone on Draft Day and pick Robert Griffin III instead of Luck. The Cowboys have signed a young CB away from KC, Brandon Carr, for 5 yrs, $50M. Seems like alot to me for someone that hasn't done that much yet, but I guess that's the going rate now. They also picked up Kyle Orton to back up Romo for the next 3 yrs. What has your team done?

That took me a while to figure out too, but it is possible to download the album or individual tracks to your computer, instead of just an android device. Next to the album's image, there is a small triangle button. The little triangle shows up if you hover your mouse over an individual track too. If you click that triangle, one of the drop down menu options is to download that album or track.

Just a heads-up for anyone interested in this live album, it's 25 cents for the entire album today, on Google Play, which is their new music/media site. Brussels Affair is an officially released live album (mp3/FLAC only though, no physical product) from their 1973 Goats Head Soup tour. I'd much rather have an actual CD, but for 25 cents for the MP3's, this ain't too shabby. Set List: Brown Sugar Gimme Shelter Happy Tumbling Dice Star Star Dancing With Mr D Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) Angie You Can't Always Get What You Want Midnight Rambler Honky Tonk Women All Down The Line Rip This Joint Jumping Jack Flash Street Fighting Man https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=Bqir6rjr6hbqnzj7wqmrnuyd6ja&feature=banner#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDIwMSwibXVzaWMtZWRpdG9yaWFsX3RvcF9mZWF0dXJlZF9tdWx0aV9fXzdfcHJvbW9fMTMzMTQwNTQwNDkxNiJd edit - You have to have a Google email address/account to purchase from them I believe.

Redskins have apparently given up three (!!) first round picks and a 2nd to move up to the #2 pick in this year's draft, to get RGIII. Dude's good, perhaps really good, but is he (or anybody) worth 3 first round picks? If he turns out to be just an average NFL QB, Redskins are in trouble with no 1st rd picks for the next few yrs.

re: "smallish type city"... I've heard that before about Houston, but it's the 4th largest city in the country, after NYC, L.A., and Chicago. I don't get how it can be considered a small city or a small market even. I realize that Houston's football teams over the decades haven't had the success that the Cowboys have had, who are probably alot more popular throughout Texas than the Oilers were and the Texans are. But that still doesn't change the size of the Houston market, does it?

Yeah, and Colt McCoy is so much better than Peyton too! If they don't pursue Manning, I think the Browns will end up with a new QB in the draft. I think Manning ends up in either Miami or Seattle.
