Old folks...? What...over age 25? I don't think most 25 year olds care for Leno's style of humor at all. In all honesty I think he appeals mostly to people 50+. -

Where are you flying in to? Malaga probably is the closest decent sized airport. The drive up the coast from Malaga to Motril, then inland to Granada is a nice one. As mentioned, spend some time at the Alhambra, it's a beautiful mix of Islamic and Christian influences. And try some paella somewhere - it's wonderful!

I didn't have alot of options with that design. The only places available for drilling were around the front and rear axles, so there's weight around both of those. That still didn't get it up to 5 oz though, so I had to use some additional weights that are stuck to the underside of the car, pretty much running the length of the car. The weight is pretty well spread out on the car, so hopefully it will at least be competitive - we'll see!

It's derby time again - our race is this coming Saturday. My son and I finished our car today though, so we're ready! We came in 6th place last year, out of about 40-45 cars. The cars that all won last year's race weren't really "car" shaped, but more aerodynamic. My son decided he wanted this year's car to look like that, so he came up with the design in our picture. He also decided he didn't want to paint it this year, but use some full-body stickers he'd seen. Kind of like those tattoos you wet and stick on your arm as a kid, except you have to cut them to the car's shape, then wet and stick 'em on. The biggest problem we had this year was with so little wood left in the design, there wasn't much room for weight. I was able to drill holes in the front and rear areas, and put some 3/8" cylinder weights in, but still had to put additional flat weights on the bottom to get up to the 5 oz. limit. Looking forward to the race!

17-3 Vikings over the Cowboys at the half. Romo has had 3 fumbles already, which is uncharacteristic of him. The OL hasn't given him protection or time to get his passes off, so it's all on them. And Flozell Adams is out, so not looking good. Vikings are playing pretty well, too. Not taking anything away from them. The 1st TD seemed to have sparked them.

I get you on that, but are you suggesting that Bonds/McGwire/Sosa/whoever never hit flies that only travelled to the warning track? Surely you can admit that they occasionally hit balls like that, that either were caught for an out, or were doubles or whatever. Those are the hits that would have been more possible to become HRs, with the use of steroids. How many of those in a season would Bonds/McGwire have hit? Without steroids - a double or out. With steroids, an extra Home Run. Oh sure. I saw a ton of fly-outs, too. But when the wind isn't blowing out, that can happen to anyone. Besides, haven't you ever hit a baseball/softball/racquetball/golfball/tennis ball where you didn't feel you got all of it? I have and I am certain McGwire and Bonds have, too. Add to that all the BBs Bonds got and the total HR count might have been 900 if the opposing pitchers had any guts. Add steroids to that pop-up....it's still going to be a pop-up. It is a mishit. Hit it flush, and it goes out. Then there is weather, who is pitching and if he's got his game on, are they throwing around the hitter, etc...too many factors involved to say unequivically one way or the other, Aggie. As we have over the past couple of years, we'll have to agree to disagree then.

You answered your own question. Flawed mechanics and steroids just means he's going to hit grounders, line drives, and his occasional homers harder. The steroids didn't automatically turn his grounders into home runs.' For someone else who had better mechanics and better coordination, the increased muscle mass helps drive balls that might only get to the warning track OVER the fence, resulting in an increased number of HRs hit while on steroids. The ones that would have gone over the fence anyway simply traveled further over the fence than they would've.

I don't know if your situation allows for it, or if you've even considered it as an option, but my ex and I share custody of our kids, 50/50. They live with me for a week, then with her for a week, and back and forth. It's about as fair as it can be for us as parents, and I think it allows our kids to spend as much time as possible with both parents, and learn from both of us. They get both a good (well hopefully anyway) male and female role model. It helps that we only live a couple of blocks away from each other, so the kids are able to have the same friends regardless of which house they're at, and attend the same schools, etc. It's a little jarring going from single parent to bachelor and back so regularly, but I've gotten used to it.

I'd be relieved if I was a Vols fan. Noj is right, the guy is a dirt-bag. I can't imagine USC fans are jumping for joy. I wouldn't want him as my coach either, so from that aspect, I know what you're saying. But it is throwing their whole program into disarray - they have an interim coach who wasn't even there a month ago. Recruits who pledged to Kiffin are decommitting left and right. It's going to take a long time to right the ship there. That's what they should be pissed off about.

Lane Kiffin has apparently abandoned Tennessee after only one year, to become the coach of USC. I'd be pretty upset if I were a Vols fan.

A little early to be hitting the cheap beer! -
Well well well, Mark McGwire has just admitted that he took steroids on and off for a decade, including in 1998, the year he broke Roger Maris' home run record.
