  1. Does this box contain all of the officially released Haden/Montreal music? Not all of it was released on Verve - the Haden/Gismonti set on ECM for instance.
  2. Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Mike!!
  3. Porcupine Tree cover Neu! I love this cover! It's on the 2nd disc of the reissue of Signify (originally on the Insignificance release).
  4. All the best for the coming year, Hans!
  5. Happy Birthday, John!
  6. Assuming this is a sincere question, it makes sense when you're shipping internationally. It saves a significant amount of postage expense.
  7. I think this is the one?
  8. Have a great one, Bruce!
  9. Not to those dates! Just Houston. Though if they keep adding a day here and a day there, they may get back to San Francisco too, so maybe I'll fly out and see 'em with ya!
  10. A few more dates have been added to the spring tour: Apr 25 2010 Tampa Theater, Tampa Florida May 06 2010 QUEBEC CITY, Canada: Capitole Du Quebec May 07 2010 MONTREAL, Canada: Place De Arts May 08 2010 TORONTO, Canada: Sound Academy
  11. Man, I never get invites like that!!
  12. You're repeating yourself now. And just because you consider it a "pretend sanctuary" (whatever that means), doesn't make it so for everyone else.
  13. Happy Birthday!!
  14. LOL again, Aggie! That's what everyone said four years ago. Yet I noticed this afternoon that it had 1,170 views when I resurrected it. I would be careful correlating page views with interest in these titles. The "Digression" thread gets far more views than this one. People like to look at threads they can have fun with, such as this one.
  15. Why wouldn't you just play the albums that the tracks are originally from? I can't see this set appealing to most of the board members here...
  16. Ball on the ground Ball on the ground Vikes lose cuz they put the ball on the ground.
  17. ...to a player on the other team.
  18. If you're just getting started, alot of the artists you mentioned have a wealth of material that you can't possibly have completely listened to/digested. I'd take a few of the bigger names - Louis Armstrong, Duke, Miles Davis, and Coltrane, and explore their whole history. You could almost spend a a lifetime just exploring their works, and seeing how they evolved.
  19. I remember my cars when I was a kid as well, Ed It was a blast, and I enjoyed working with my father. We had our race this morning, and my son's car came in 10th place, out of about 45 cars. He was a little disappointed, but still had fun. He got an award for best paint job - even though ours was a body sticker type thing, lol. I think our car was fine, weight wise and design wise, but we should have worked a little more on aligning the wheels and making sure they stayed aligned. I think that's what hurt us today. All in all a blast though.
  20. You going?? I wish! I am going to go to the Houston show though.
  21. Two fall dates for apparently special shows. These are "Evening With" shows with extended sets. Sep 24 - Radio City Music Hall, New York Oct 14 - Royal Albert Hall, London
  22. Just as an FYI, Andy has been Conan's announcer/foil/right hand man for the past 7 months. I think he'll stick with Conan wherever O'Brien ends up, too.
  23. "Young" is the demographic the advertisers want. Not "old". "Young" are the ones more influenced by the commercials than "old". Leno going back to do the Tonight Show isn't going to bring in the younger viewers - they'll watch Letterman and O'Brien, wherever he ends up.
  24. I wouldn't expect so, nor most of the people I know. But stated another way, I think people younger than 50 don't care for Leno's humor for the most part. Heck, the funniest thing about his show IMO are the Jaywalking skits and the Headlines, both of which are funnier than any joke Leno attempts during the rest of the show.
