The only reason I can see for having a landline anymore might be for a home security system to be able to dial out in the event of an emergency.
I don't see a need for one otherwise, at least in my case.
Don't agree with that.
Beyond the Wall isn't bad, but I'd take Songbook, Pursuance, Triology, Stars & Stripes Live, Black Hope, or African Exchange Student over it.
Welcome to Austin, I think you'll like the city!
Waterloo has ALOT more jazz than what you noted, it's just that they don't categorize their music - it's all lumped together with rock, R&B, rap, etc, alphabetically.
Well, 2 1/2 years later I'm listening to Secret Chiefs "Book M" release, from 2001. Good stuff - got alot of Indian and Middle-Eastern sounds, mixed with some techno-ish rock.
SC3 also have a release in the Zorn/Masada Book of Angels series, "Xaphan". Gonna have to check that one out as well.
And in Raiders news, former #1 overall draft pick Jamarcus Russell has been benched for the rest of the season, in favor of journeyman Bruce "Who?" Gradkowski.
I'd go see him as well, but it sure seems like he's got about 25 different live albums out there - which all seem to contain half Beatles, half solo stuff.
As a general rule, I have it on good authority that ECM likes the sound of its masterings, and that it does NOT do remastering.
That's what I thought.
IIRC they did remaster those "Rarum" compilations from a few years ago. Might be a way for David to sample an artist's ECM tracks in remastered form.
Not sure what that means, but they sure looked crappy yesterday. I blame that on coaching and playcalling. And a stupid play or two by Roy Williams. And a couple of very bad mistakes by the refs. Mainly they just looked crappy though.
Still thinking about Belichick's 4th and 2 decision last night.
I commented elsewhere about this, but maybe the actual decision to go for it wasn't that bad, if he truly didn't trust his defense to be able to stop Peyton Manning. If that's the case it wouldn't matter where the Colts got the ball.
But WHY didn't Belichick run a better play than that one?? Why throw a 2 yard pass on 4th and 2?? Why not throw a 5 yard pass? Why not throw something to Randy Moss 5-10 yds down the field, who likely could have outjumped anyone on the Colts' defense??
My gut still says they shoulda punted the ball away still, and force the Colts to earn the win the hard way.
NFL admits to making a mistake on the play where they gave the ball to the Pack instead of the Cowboys, which resulted in the final Pack td.
They also messed up another play, where the Packers challenged a play, but were out of challenges. They should have been penalized for that, but weren't.
Jeez.
I think that was the play of the game right there. Poor decision by Belichick - not sure any other coach in the NFL would have called that at that point in the game, at that spot on the field. Arrogance?
Used to be a place called the CD Cellar in Falls Church that was fairly decent, but I haven't been there in years. Don't know if it's even still around.
