  1. Back to Pine Knob Louisiana? Best wishes for a positive move!
  2. I just don't think the Lakers took the Rockets seriously enough, personally. They clearly had more talent, but maybe not more heart. Houston did well to take this series to 7, without their two main offensive cogs (McGrady & Yao) and one and a half defensive threats - Yao and Dikembe.
  3. The cover model is Jane Birkin, who was also married for a couple of years to composer John Barry.
  4. All I see in the first post is x/x... I don't even see that. I agreed with Free For All, thinking it was some cryptic something or nother.
  5. Or see 'em.
  6. To quote some other random country song, Don't it make my Brown Eyes Blue?
  7. I dunno, but I've already ordered it just to see if it will ship at that price. Amazon had a similar SHM Japanese Kinks box set recently, also for a good price, but those orders got cancelled.
  8. Dig that Billy Joel "Glass Houses" hidden in there.
  9. I remember Chalke when she took over the "Becky" role on Roseanne:
  10. Has anyone ever made a Spam pizza before?
  11. I dunno - the man has his very own bowling alley in his basement!
  12. I liked Scrubs when I stumbled onto it, but usually missed it when it was on. I don't usually turn the tv on until later in the evening. To me, Scrubs had a bit of the same wacky/whimsical vibe as Ally McBeal, Northern Exposure, and Going to Extremes, which only lasted one season, but was from the producers of Northern Exposure, and was about a group of medical students studying on a tropical island.
  13. Is there really "no" evidence Bonds did? There's pretty clear evidence, unless you live in the San Francisco Bay Area. The difference I see between Bonds and someone like Manny is that Bond's asterisks belong next to his individual records, and rightfully so. Assuming Ramirez was juicing while in Boston, then the records that Goodspeak is arguing should be asterisked are team records. It's more difficult in my mind to paint the whole team with a brush stroke that may (MAY) be deserved for one player. Any of Ramirez', Clemen's, and A-Roid's individual records should have asterisks. I'm not sure how to deal with team accomplishments when there is a juicing player on the team.
  14. This probably works better for pop songs than jazz. R.E.M.'s "Superman" is a cover of a 1969 song by the band "The Clique".
  15. I'm guessing that will be his explanation. And if it is, there should be a justification for why using that particular banned subtance was required, as opposed to any of the legitimate ED drugs out there - Viagra, Levitra, Cialis, etc. If I'm a pro ball player and I'm given something like this by a doctor, don't you think I'd want to ENSURE it's not against my employer's rules before putting it in my body? Especially when a $22.5M paycheck and endorsements and adulation are involved?
  16. Not particularly good, to tell the truth. One of the very few Milestones that don't have at least one killer cut on it. Just my opinion, and as I remember it. I liked the credenza at the end of the album and "McGhee", to me these are the highlights of this session. McGhee is on the Silver City comp. I guess I should give that a spin soon.
  17. I pulled that cover art from AMC, so it didn't come with the article that I posted. I'm not sure it will look exactly like that on the reissue.
  18. Barak Weiss would kick my butt in basketball, I have no doubt!
  19. PM sent, Bill. I've got a Matthew Shipp disc - "Matthew Shipp vs. Antipop Consortium" on Thirsty Ear, for the first PMer.
  20. Eva's originally from Corpus Christi, and worked at a local Wendy's as a teenager. She came back for a visit last year, and showed up at Wendy's and helped hand out orders. Can you imagine going through the drive through, and have Eva Longoria hand you your order?
  21. "Concord Records will release, via their Original Jazz Classics imprint, a reissue of the 1982 Sonny Rollins album, Reel Life. This CD release will be the first time that this album has been available on the format. In addition, the album is digitally remastered. Reel Life drops on June 2." ....how is this one? Any recommendations for or against? AMC/Yanow's writeup doesn't give it too glowing of a review, but it does contain Bobby Broom & Jack DeJohnette...
  22. Happy Birthday, Yves!
