  1. Most of us? Not so sure about that.
  2. Episode 2's body count: 1 Hanging 1 Falling-into-a-hidden-pit, doused-by-gasoline, and set on fire 1 Upside-down-hanging-by-a-leg decapitation Still alot of creepy characters left. My very early prediction - the groom is the killer.
  3. He gazes a little too longingly or something at Aikman.
  4. It would be nice if they could add the the various teams' radio announcers as alternate sound channels as well. Sometimes those guys are pretty good, since they have to work a little harder at describing what's going on for people that aren't actually watching.
  5. I don't think this guy actually reads threads here, so he won't see that comment. He just seems to start a new thread every time he has a new channel to advertise.
  6. I was hoping they'd use this as a chance to toss Al Michaels and start anew. The tone of his voice is so grating. I think Michaels has the gig until he decides to retire. I actually kind of like the Tirico/Jaworski/What's his name trio on ESPN's MNF these days.
  7. Wow, glad you're safe, Victor. I hope nobody else was seriously injured.
  8. I sense a rematch! I agree, I think now the snake's got a chip on it's (lack of) shoulder.
  9. "You! You there! Stop! Yes you, snake! You are under arrest!"
  10. Man bites snake in epic struggle A Kenyan man bit a python which wrapped him in its coils and dragged him up a tree during a fierce three-hour struggle, police have told the BBC. The serpent seized farm worker Ben Nyaumbe in the Malindi area of Kenya's Indian Ocean coast at the weekend. Mr Nyaumbe bit the snake on the tip of the tail during the exhausting battle in the village of Sabaki. Police rescued Mr Nyaumbe and captured the 13ft (4m) reptile, before taking it to a sanctuary, but it later escaped. The victim told police he managed to reach his mobile phone from his pocket to raise the alarm when the python momentarily eased its grip after hauling him up a tree on Saturday evening. Mr Nyaumbe used his shirt to smother the snake's head and prevent it from swallowing him. His employer arrived with police and villagers, who tied the python with a rope and pulled them both down from the tree with a thud. Peter Katam, superintendent of police in Malindi district, told the BBC News website: "Two officers on patrol were called and they found this man was struggling with a snake on a tree. "The snake had coiled his hands and was trying to swallow him but he struggled very hard. The officers and villagers managed to rescue him and he was freed. "He himself was injured on the lower lip of the mouth - it was bleeding a little bit - as the tip of the snake's tail was sharp when he said he bit it." Mr Nyaumbe told the Daily Nation newspaper how he resorted to desperate measures after the python, which had apparently been hunting livestock, encircled his upper body in its coils. "I stepped on a spongy thing on the ground and suddenly my leg was entangled with the body of a huge python," he said. "I had to bite it." 'Very mysterious' Supt Katam told the BBC the officers had wanted to shoot the snake but could not do so for fearing of injuring Mr Nyaumbe. "If it wasn't for the villagers and officers who helped him, he would have been swallowed by the snake over the Easter holiday," said Supt Katam. He added: "It's very mysterious, this ability to lift the man onto the tree. I've never heard of this before." The police officer said they took the snake to a sanctuary in Malindi town but it escaped overnight, probably from a gap under the door in the room where it was kept. "We are still seriously looking for the snake," said Supt Katam. "We want to arrest the snake because any one of us could fall a victim."
  11. I agree with all of your points. I wonder if Aikman will replace him - or if Fox would let him go in the first place. So much for that - looks like it's Chris Collinsworth.
  12. Here's a new one for SS1: Not as cool as the Derek Riggs art.
  13. I agree with all of your points. I wonder if Aikman will replace him - or if Fox would let him go in the first place.
  14. I'm ok with yourmusic in general. The deals (especially lately, with the free offers) were better on BMG for a while, but it's still hard to beat a $6.99 cd. Their selection hasn't been that great though. And there's no guarantee they'll get all of the RVG's or anything else coming up. Just be sure and keep your queue stocked, so you aren't charged the $6.99 for no shipment.
  15. Not funny. We lost a good contributor and a fun all around board member, which was totally unnecessary. I don't care for Hitler jokes either, and I don't think it's a cultural thing.
  16. The problems in 2007, which came to a head in the last couple of months of that year, arose from personal attacks and indeed the different American and European interpretations of freedom of speech. They drove members like couw, deus62/neveronfriday and a few others away. I was also very upset and left the board for a while. I miss couw - the board was a better place with his contributions.
  17. I wouldn't mind P/R threads going away either. That's been discussed/argued before, and I think the reasoning at the time was that those types of discussions would invariably start happening everywhere else, so the goal was to contain them in one optional-view forum.
  18. Please don't start up your squabble with each other again. I thought at least one of you agreed to ignore the other.
  19. Is that really causing that much of a problem? That's said more in curiousity than disbelief.

    Jon Hassell

I've nabbed a couple of Hassell recordings since this thread started, thanks for the recommendations. Enjoying "Surgeon of the Nightsky" at the moment, it's a fascinating recording.
  22. It's actually still 2 cds, just in one package.
  23. I don't like this change, and hope it can be reversed.
  24. My condolences, VB.
  25. Sounds pretty dusty; even I used that plot back in a tenth grade creative writing exercise... Well, it's certainly not a new idea, but it was fun to watch. Gotta appreciate a show where they butcher Harry Hamlin in the very first episode!
