  1. My kids' school district just closed all schools today, until at least May 14th. Sigh. Looks like some involuntary vacation time for me coming up.
  2. Nina Simone - Let it Be Me Roy Ayers - Ubiquity Count Basie - On My Way & Shoutin' Again Quincy Jones - You've Got It Bad Girl Bud Powell - Blues in the Closet Stan Getz - Dynasty Bird and the Bee - Ray Guns are not just the Future
  3. The Cowboys' practice facility collapsed today, with about 70 people in it, during a heavy storm. It was apparently one of those bubble type facilities. Nobody was killed, but special teams coach Joe DeCamilis suffered a broken back according to cnn.com. DeCamilis is Dan Reeve's son-in-law.
  4. What did you do to the board, Free??? I can't get Today's Active Topics or View New Posts to work.

  6. I'd want to know how cities earned points in their measuring system, before giving any credence to it overall. And I'd like to see how the 215 candidate cities were selected in the first place. I'm guessing this survey looked at primarily large cities that deal in alot of trade/business. Frankfurt would qualify in that respect, though I'd much rather live in any number of nearby cities over Frankfurt.
  7. Happy Birthday, Lazaro!
  8. Happy Birthday, Cary!
  9. Dorothy, a little dog, and strong winds whisking things away... we just need a Tin Woodsman!
  10. No Place Like Home For Airborne Chihuahua 8-Month-Old Tinker Bell Blown Away By Wind Gust Last Weekend, Found A Mile From Mich. Home WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich., April 28, 2009 (AP) Tinker Bell has been reunited with her blown-away owners after a 70 mph gust of wind picked up the six-pound Chihuahua and tossed her out of sight. Dorothy and Lavern Utley credit a pet psychic for guiding them to a wooded area nearly a mile from where 8-month-old Tinker Bell had been last seen. The brown long-haired dog was dirty and hungry but otherwise OK. The Utleys, of Rochester, had set up an outdoor display Saturday at a flea market in Oakland County's Waterford Township, 25 miles northwest of Detroit. Tinker Bell was standing on their platform trailer when she was flung into the air. Dorothy Utley tells The Detroit News that Tinker Bell was found Monday after speaking with the psychic. She says her cherished pet "just went wild" upon seeing her.
  11. Happy Birthday, Joe!!
  12. Alles gute, Niko!
  13. If "Augie" is me, I'm not sure why you're directing that at me. If it's someone else, I don't know who you're referring to, sorry. I don't see anyone else you could mean though. And I"m not sure what your comment about the child not being from Canada means. Are you saying it's a Mexican child? Does that mean something? We've got 20 suspected cases here in my county currently. Many of them are children. Many are probably of Hispanic origin. All are American.
  14. While this strain needs to be resolved, it's a drop in the bucket according to CNN.com. The regular flu has killed 13,000 people in the U.S. since January alone. And it kills roughly 36,000 annually in the U.S.
  15. How come I can buy Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi in convenience stores but not grocery stores??
  16. Totally random Stevie Wonder? And you work for Motown? What are the odds????
  17. I don't like the sound of that - is Amazon starting to charge that on all CDs? Edit - there is no sign of the "sourcing fee" anymore, but the list price has bumped up to $17.98 to apparently include it without you seeing it.
  18. I've Seen All Good People
  19. They traded their first round pick to Detroit last year, for WR Roy Williams. And they had a 2nd rounder, but traded down after center Max Unger got drafted. I think the Cowboys had a poor draft this year, and don't see any of their picks being starters. Maybe a few years down the road.
  20. For the Lions' sake, I hope Stafford turns out to be a real player. That's alot of money (6 yrs, $72M) for a QB who's never played a snap in the NFL.
  21. The Spurs starters got pulled mid way through the 3rd quarter for lack of effort. Pop pretty much wrote the game off. I didn't see the game, but I'd guess the fans left after that (?), since it wasn't even a contest. Hope the Spurs come back with some energy for Game 4, or this thing's gonna be over.
  22. I wonder if his big head scares JSngry.
  23. I've seen a 2 disc Andorran (or something) set of Blakey's Cafe Bohemia recordings at my local Half Price bookstore, too.
