  1. My condolences, VB.
  2. Sounds pretty dusty; even I used that plot back in a tenth grade creative writing exercise... Well, it's certainly not a new idea, but it was fun to watch. Gotta appreciate a show where they butcher Harry Hamlin in the very first episode!
  3. Never heard of him, but here's his website. According to his bio he's played with Dewey Redman.
  4. I'm curious about the new album - SW has mentioned in some interviews that it could be a 2 disc set, with one containing a 55 minute piece, and the other containing more normal length tracks. Not sure what to make of that at this point, and it's likely to change 2-3 times before it actually gets released. I also wish they were coming down to Texas on this tour. Maybe more dates will be announced, or they'll have another leg later. Might consider the Philly show though.
  5. Porcupine Tree is happy to announce its upcoming Autumn US / Canada tour in support of a brand new studio album. The following dates have been confirmed: Tue 15 Sept: SEATTLE, WA - MOORE THEATER Wed 16 Sept: PORTLAND, OR - ROSELAND Fri 18 Sept: SAN FRANCISCO - WARFIELD Sat 19 Sept: LOS ANGELES - CLUB NOKIA Mon 21 Sept: CLEVELAND, OH - HOUSE OF BLUES Tue 22 Sept: CHICAGO, IL - VIC THEATER Thu 24 Sept: NY, NY - TERMINAL 5 Sat 26 Sept: PHILLY - ELECTRIC FACTORY Sun 27 Sept: BOSTON, MA - HOUSE OF BLUES Tue 29 Sept: MONTREAL - METROPOLIS Wed 30 Sept: TORONTO - QUEEN ELIZABETH THEATRE Supporting PT in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco: That 1 Guy In Los Angeles: Bigelf Remaining Dates: King's X
  6. Happy Birthday!
  7. There was a time back in the 70's and early 80's where Steve Martin was genuinely funny and creative (IMO). The one that plays Inspector Clouseau sure ain't.
  8. I just watched the first episode of "Harper's Island" on CBS. It was actually pretty good, and I think I'll keep up with it. It's basically a murder mystery set on an island where alot of people have come back for a wedding, and apparently each week there are one or two killings, and you have to figure out whodunnit. Two murders on tonight's episode, both of which were pretty grisly.
  9. That is a beautiful tribute, Lazaro.
  10. Ditto. I picked it up at Waterloo (the day BFrank and I were both there but didn't hook up, LOL) a couple of weeks ago, and agree it's wonderful.
  11. You can change the thread title yourself by using the edit button of the first post. Already done. Just caught me off guard to have seen it changed, I wasn't expecting that.
  12. Out of curiousity, how did the title of this thread get changed? I didn't change it myself, and it kind of renders my initial "One after 909" comment immaterial now. I don't see the purpose in changing something like that, just for someone else to make their own commentary - that could have easily been made in the thread itself, instead of changing my title. Plus, the new thread title isn't completely accurate - these are remasters, not just re-releases.
  13. Thanks for that info, Chuck! I was reading the liner notes yesterday and was going to post a question as to who the dismissed bassist was... now I have the answer. I love this board! Cheers, Shane Picture (omitted here, not by my choice, scroll up a few posts): not funny, and IMO in very bad taste...... The picture you are referring to is in his (Indestructible's) signature file. It's not related to the post at all, and shows up in all of his posts if you do a search.
  14. I just want to know: How damn much are these boxed sets?! I haven't seen pricing on the boxes yet, but the individual CDs are available for pre-order at Amazon UK for £8.98 for the single discs, and £15.98 for the two double disc sets.
  15. Well played, Darko!
  16. And why is he signing other artists' work in the first place??
  17. My guess is that it will be a split decision (especially on the SH board!) on whether they actually sound better, but they will sound different than what we have now.
  18. This is the first time in 22 years that these albums have been reissued on CD. Only the 2nd cd issue ever. I would have liked to have seen 2 disc sets for each album - one with the album in stereo & mono where possible, and one with outtakes, alternates, etc. But I am interested in hearing these for sure! Apple doesn't move very fast, so these may be the last issues of this music for another 20 years, unless you consider the Andorran releases which will probably follow shortly.
  19. I wish Capitol would do a third box set of the U.S. issues.
  20. If I remember correctly, that's how they released the original CD issues. I remember having to wait to buy each batch as they came out.
  21. "My baby says she's traveling on the one after 909!" Big news for Beatles fans, they're releasing the Beatles' albums in remastered format (digipak I believe) on 9 Sept 09. This is in conjunction with the Beatles Rock Band game (which I could care less about, personally). They're releasing all 12 "proper" albums, along with Magical Mystery Tour and Past Masters I & II (which are now one set instead of two). Also, Paul & Ringo played together at the David Lynch Foundation this past Saturday:
  22. http://www.amazon.com/Goldfinger-Various-A...5939&sr=1-2 You shoulda gone with "Pussy Galore's Flying Circus" instead.
