I'm ok with yourmusic in general. The deals (especially lately, with the free offers) were better on BMG for a while, but it's still hard to beat a $6.99 cd. Their selection hasn't been that great though. And there's no guarantee they'll get all of the RVG's or anything else coming up. Just be sure and keep your queue stocked, so you aren't charged the $6.99 for no shipment.

Not funny. We lost a good contributor and a fun all around board member, which was totally unnecessary. I don't care for Hitler jokes either, and I don't think it's a cultural thing.

The problems in 2007, which came to a head in the last couple of months of that year, arose from personal attacks and indeed the different American and European interpretations of freedom of speech. They drove members like couw, deus62/neveronfriday and a few others away. I was also very upset and left the board for a while. I miss couw - the board was a better place with his contributions.

I wouldn't mind P/R threads going away either. That's been discussed/argued before, and I think the reasoning at the time was that those types of discussions would invariably start happening everywhere else, so the goal was to contain them in one optional-view forum.

Please don't start up your squabble with each other again. I thought at least one of you agreed to ignore the other.

Is that really causing that much of a problem? That's said more in curiousity than disbelief.

I've nabbed a couple of Hassell recordings since this thread started, thanks for the recommendations. Enjoying "Surgeon of the Nightsky" at the moment, it's a fascinating recording.

It's actually still 2 cds, just in one package.

I don't like this change, and hope it can be reversed.

My condolences, VB.

Sounds pretty dusty; even I used that plot back in a tenth grade creative writing exercise... Well, it's certainly not a new idea, but it was fun to watch. Gotta appreciate a show where they butcher Harry Hamlin in the very first episode!

Never heard of him, but here's his website. According to his bio he's played with Dewey Redman.

I'm curious about the new album - SW has mentioned in some interviews that it could be a 2 disc set, with one containing a 55 minute piece, and the other containing more normal length tracks. Not sure what to make of that at this point, and it's likely to change 2-3 times before it actually gets released. I also wish they were coming down to Texas on this tour. Maybe more dates will be announced, or they'll have another leg later. Might consider the Philly show though.

There was a time back in the 70's and early 80's where Steve Martin was genuinely funny and creative (IMO). The one that plays Inspector Clouseau sure ain't.

I just watched the first episode of "Harper's Island" on CBS. It was actually pretty good, and I think I'll keep up with it. It's basically a murder mystery set on an island where alot of people have come back for a wedding, and apparently each week there are one or two killings, and you have to figure out whodunnit. Two murders on tonight's episode, both of which were pretty grisly.

That is a beautiful tribute, Lazaro.

Ditto. I picked it up at Waterloo (the day BFrank and I were both there but didn't hook up, LOL) a couple of weeks ago, and agree it's wonderful.

You can change the thread title yourself by using the edit button of the first post. Already done. Just caught me off guard to have seen it changed, I wasn't expecting that.
-
Out of curiousity, how did the title of this thread get changed? I didn't change it myself, and it kind of renders my initial "One after 909" comment immaterial now. I don't see the purpose in changing something like that, just for someone else to make their own commentary - that could have easily been made in the thread itself, instead of changing my title. Plus, the new thread title isn't completely accurate - these are remasters, not just re-releases.

Art Pepper - Complete Village Vanguard Sessions
Aggie87 replied to mikelz777's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Thanks for that info, Chuck! I was reading the liner notes yesterday and was going to post a question as to who the dismissed bassist was... now I have the answer. I love this board! Cheers, Shane Picture (omitted here, not by my choice, scroll up a few posts): not funny, and IMO in very bad taste...... The picture you are referring to is in his (Indestructible's) signature file. It's not related to the post at all, and shows up in all of his posts if you do a search.
