    FREDDIE IS 67!

If you do go be sure and report back! I'd like to hear how he's playing these days, or at least that he seems to be enjoying the process. Happy B-day Freddie!
  2. That's great Big Al. Way to be a Dad, and keep swingin'.
  3. I got 75, but that was w/ a conservative drinking estimate. When I owned up to my 5+ drinks at least once in a month average, I lost 3 years. Hmmmm...decisions.... B-)
  4. I've only met jazzkrow. Not a bad start. Who would I like to meet? Darned near all of ya'!
  5. I agree that long boxes can be a pain in the arse. I have a Marvin Gaye box set in a long box, and all I have to do is look at that MoFo and the discs come falling out. To return to the topic (Miles), I still don't have the SSTH box, and all I can say is... !!
  6. I've been waiting too long to post my personal nickname for him: Kenny Che
  7. Is Kobe a carcinogen? B-)
  8. Is anyone else but me picking the Utes over Kentucky? I think that they are one better-than-average game by someone besides Bogut from an upset. I went to the U of U, so I'd sure love to see it happen.
  9. 50 and over. What about Julian Priester? (I didn't read the rest of the responses)
  10. I saw them at the Bluemonk in Portland on Friday night. I was blown away by Stanko and the pianist, and the other two players were more than good enough. I think that Tomasz has a bit of a Don Cherry/Ornette thing happening, too...even though they write about his influences being Miles and Chet. He's the one the best trumpet players that I've seen play in that out, stream-of-consciousness style without reverting to cliches and Milesisms. That pianist is a mutant! Just amazing. Yes, I'll try to catch these guys anytime possible.
  11. Led Zeppelin- Presence.
  12. Yeah, a little ballistic...but just think of all the babes he's gonna pull with that in his collection.
  13. Just given to Jazzkrow. This is fun!
  14. Ok. I'm finally ready to throw down. I've been in Minneapolis for a few days, and have had some time to ponder what to pay forward. So, I'd like to put up a signed/numbered print of my drawing of Cannonball Adderley drawing which can be seen (but not all that clearly due to a poor scan) on my website: jazzdrawings.com. The print looks much crisper than the image on there. I think that there might be a Cannonball fan or two in the house...?
  15. I just want to check in and let y'all know that I still haven't posted any offerings due to a combination of gigs and a cat emergency. When I'm not at the club playing, I'm at the frickin' vet. I'll post something, I promise!!
  16. I think that the compositions were a little more "involved"/arranged on Asia Minor. The BNs contain more straight-ahead blues numbers, standards, and when it's all said and done...my ears do prefer the BN stuff.
  17. I apologize for not getting my offerings up here yet. It's been one helluva busy week.
  18. Hey King Ubu, I'd love to have that one! I'll post my offerings in a few minutes. Matt
  19. Happy Birthday there, Noj!!! Have a great time! !
  20. ...and let's not forget the upcoming Norah Jones Swimsuit Calendar!
  21. I dunno. I'm drawing a wank.
  22. I think I'm getting a wanker sore.
  23. hooked ever since. B-)
  24. and I've been
