  1. Exactly!!
  2. Talk about overachieving - Univ. of Wisconsin now 9-1.
  3. Say it ain't so! Where'd you hear this? Cadence has always been the most reliable source for hats for a long time ... Go to the Hat website. If you click on US ordering, Cadence / North Country is no longer there. They list DMG, Dusty Groove, Jazz Loft & Jazz Record Mart. I inferred from that & the lowered prices at Cadence that they were out of the picture. If you look at the Cadence website many items are no longer listed & the newest ones (e.g. Carter / Bradford) never appeared. I hope I'm wrong, but that's the way it looks to me.
  4. I believe that Cadence will no longer be distributing the Hat family in the U.S. & is selling off their remaining stock.
  5. I have all of these (except The Way & The Eighth) and believe they're fine.
  6. I saw this septet a couple of months ago. They were excellent.
  7. I've only seen the one disc "compilations", never the 2 & 3 disc sets.
  8. This appears to be available. Anyone heard it?

    John Carter

Sorry to "pick nits", but the drummer is Bruz Freeman (Von's brother). Williamson is the bass player. Great record though.
  11. 3 Black Kings with Roland Hanna & Richard Davis. Not sure if it's still in print.
  12. Ed Blackwell Project: What It Is (Enja)
  13. I agree. Our grandchildren like it a lot.
  14. I had the same problem & received replacements, but that's a long time ago. When / if you get replacements, don't stick them back in the styrofoam holder.
  15. well fine, who wants your stupid ol' copy anyway. Just braggin'.
  16. Glad you got it, because I don't want to sell my copy.
  17. Yeah - they were really good. Talked with them after the show. Javon & Jimmy signed their CD called New York Time (has Walton & McBride on it ) for me. They were selling it for $10. After the show was over, Cables sat down & played solo for about 30 minutes for a few of us.
  18. Javon Jackson Quartet - George Cables, Nat Reeves, Jimmy Cobb
  19. The Redd Mosaic is one of my all time favorites.
  20. Ed Blackwell:What It Be Like
  21. Found (and ordered) the Blackwell: What It Be Like for $12.99 at Dusty Groove. Received shipping confirmation. Must have been their only copy because it's now listed as out of stock. The other Blackwell seems to be at least $25 from various sellers.
  22. FME: Montage
