  1. Ordered the CD today.
  2. Dave Douglas: Live In Sweden (Greenleaf Paperback Series)
  3. Saw an "all-star" group last night at The New Mexico Jazz Festival. Frank Wess, Lew Tabackin, Randy Sandke, Kenny Davern, Howard Alden, Cedar Walton, Peter Washington, Kenny Washington. Great playing by all. Everyone had their own "features" as well as tunes by the entire group. More thought than usually goes into this type of session had obviously been applied.
  4. What do you think so far? I liked it, though obviously it would have been improved had she lived to finish the whole thing and also had a chance to revise. So far, so good - but I'm only half-way through the first part.
  5. Irene Nemirovsky: Suite Francaise
  6. Lots of Euros. I wonder if Cadence will eventually get it. That's where I got the previous Mitchell on RogueArt. Disclaimer: I see they no longer have that earlier one listed in their data base.
  7. Good songs. Masabumi Kikuchi "groans" louder than Jarrett when he plays. I'll be optimistic for now.
  8. About The Monks is better than his newer CD on ZoHo (IMHO).
  9. Duke's In Bed (of course, no Ellington on that one except what I presume are Duke's slippers on the cover).
  10. Maybe a minority viewpoint, but I really like Monk's Casino.
  11. huh? mine is just 1 disc! I have the 2 CD version which I believe is a "compilation" of 4 EP's.
  12. Actually the Dave Bailey material is on CD. Of course, it's on Lonehill.
  13. I couldn't resist buying this, since my copies are all crappy old cassettes.
  14. Really good album, but then you already knew that.
  15. Kent Haruf: Eventide Llosa: Aunt Julia & The Scriptwriter
  16. Lon is correct, as usual. I had to get it as a Japanese mini-CD LP facsimile, as I recall, from Dusty Groove.
  17. Great CD. I have one of those "expensive" Japanese issues.

    Johnny Coles

There's a very early CrissCross date, that I'm too lazy to look up the name of, that's pretty nice.
  19. Air & Ted Curson I presume the others are fine too.
  20. I think Lon's gonna like the set.
  21. It's NOT like Million Dollar Legs.
  22. Almost as good a name as (maybe better than) Keefus Ciancia.
  23. IMHO Aric is essentially harmless as opposed to Deep who was "malignant".
