  1. Mine would be by Miles too - but it probably would be Round About Midnight or one from the Prestige series - maybe Cookin'.
  2. Good people in the band. I'd be optimistic.
  3. I'm not a big fan, but I do like the album with Lem Winchester.
  4. This is subjective (what isn't?), but he comes across to me as just "too hip". I don't like Mark Murphy either.
  5. My take exactly (& I do like Hersch).
  6. Does the color fading in & out on the new posts envelopes make anybody else seasick??
  7. Lily, Rosemary & The Jack Of Hearts (FWIW).
  8. Yes - get it.
  9. I enjoyed this first episode of the new season. I'll watch it again when it reruns on HBO on Tuesday night. The, dare I say it, politics of the striving for power is fascinating. BTW, was that a Dylan song at the end?
  10. I've always appreciated Dewey's playing. I had sort of lost interest in Joshua, but he sounds damn good on the 3CD San Francisco Jazz Collective live set.

    Lee Konitz

    Yeah - like 50 years.
  12. I'm not sure I "get" all of this, but I'm happy to stay away from the political forum.
  13. One problem for consumers (i.e. me) is that Andrew!!!! & Compulsion have only been on CD in the Mosaic box. Hopefully will be reissued as Conns. someday.
  14. A Tribute To Someone is fine. You should get it Lon. Like you need another CD.
  15. Those are 2 different books. You need both (IMHO).
  16. Thailand Mexico (Mexico City, Oaxaca, Puebla)
  17. I picked up a mint Japanese copy of that vinyl for £5 a few weeks ago, Brownie. It's a very nice session, indeed. Cool cover with the 'Daddy-O Presents' logo (whoever he was). Daddy-O Daylie was a Chicago jazz DJ.
  18. Andrew Hill: Compulsion Don Cherry:Where Is Brooklyn Pepper Adams: Critic's Choice
  19. He's on a Matt Wilson CD that I have. Plays well on the CD.
  20. I have Soul Finger as a Japanese mini-LP which was part of a Mercury & related labels reissue series. Came out probably 2003. Liner notes are dated Oct. 4, 2002. Catalogue# is UCCM-9128. Hope you can find it.
  21. They're both fine.
  22. Criss Cross Shuffle Boil
