  1. Well, I'm now inspired to pull out The Meters (Josie 4010), reissued as Sundazed 6146. Thanks for the reminder.
  2. http://www.venusrecord.com I'm waiting for it to come in at Cadence too. I just looked at the Venus website & the track listing is in Japanese which I can't read.
  3. Help! Can't find the new Kenny Barron/Venus CD at Cadence. Did find the Harold Mabern there and wiould love to order both. Thanks, Marla The one problem at Cadence is that it sometimes takes a while for the new issues to come in. Send an e-mail to Slim at Cadence to let her know which ones you want, & she'll let you know when they arrive.
  4. I'm surprised to hear that. I bought No Problem from Cadence & it's still in their center section list. Years ago I used to buy the mini-LPs, but at $19 apiece (I'm a subscriber - $1/CD discount) I'm sticking with the jewel cases now. It's true that Cadence doesn't carry the mini-LPs.
  5. Oops - I just quoted myself. Well this does keep coming up.
  6. Lon is correct. But - I don't know what shipping to Europe would do to that best price situation. In the U.S. no one else is even close.
  7. retired M.D. (gastroenterologist).
  8. Venus - but I voted for Blue Note.
  9. I always have Mosaic ship to me using UPS. I had a bad experience with DHL (which Mosaic made good on).
  10. Already on backorder at CD Universe. Apparently not in stock yet at Dusty Groove.
  11. I have both the Holiday & Young Verves. Wouldn't be without them.
  12. I can't remember the first one I bought, but my customer number is 557.

    Bill Hardman

My take on Hardman is that while he was not the world's greatest trumpeter (whatever that means), he did have a very original sound & style that I could always identify immediately.
  14. Oy vey. Where's Clem when we "need" him??
  15. Everybody has an opinion. I guess that's good. Makes life interesting.
  16. I don't need the downloads either.
  17. Rare & expensive (around $50) on the internet. Hopefully will show up in a "new" issue someday.
  18. Not to derail the thread, but I just dug out my copy of New Tango 92 & gave it a listen. Good stuff. Notes by Mr. Lowe himself. Addendum: Needless to say I also have the CD Mental Strain At Dawn & highly recommend it.
  19. Screw it. It's back in stock at Dusty Groove so I ordered it. If I can live with the sound on the Brown / Roach, I guess I can tolerate this too.
  20. Excellent music, excellent cover.
  21. Already out of stock at Dusty Groove so someone must have it. I'm curious too.
  22. Write on, Mr. Litweiler, write on.
  23. I have a late 80's Soul Note CD by this trio. It is, at least, interesting. Wonder what they'll sound like together 18 years later.

The Complete Quartets With Sonny Clark
  25. Interesting. This is the subject of Corbett's vinyl freak column in the new issue of DownBeat. Guess it was on CD after all.
